Urgent...Help me to decide: HULK out...SD4K or BLNR?
Hi guys,
after 3 years without wear my HULK (I took it and never worn, since it is almost the same of the black sub-c), I decided to sold it and buy another Rolex to replace the 116610LV in my collection. I am undecided between the BLNR and the SD 4000; more, today the no date Sub-c jumped in my mind, too. I have to decide within today...what should I add to my collection: - 14060M no COSC - 16610ln RRR - 116610ln - 116234 black/index + jubilee - 114200 white/369 - 16570 RRR polar - Moon 35.70.50 I love the slim shape of the SD and the absence of the cyclops. The Batman would be a new experience with the blue/black ceramic bezel; I already owned the 116710n for about a year, then I swapped it with the HULK because of the PCL (too blind for my tastes). The 114060 attracts me because, with him, I would have in y collection both the old and new no date and date Subs. What should I do? Take in consideration that it would be a daily we are for me.

Sounds like you want the 114060. You don't like pcls and the only thing you said about the SD4c is that it has thinner profile, while you had more to say for the SubC.
If it were me I'd get the BLNR, you already have two Subs. Get the pcls brushed. |

You will get used to the PCLs after a while, not as blinding and flashy. I have a black subc date and a blnr. Think it is a good combination.

I would have kept the 116610LV and sold the 116610LN instead. And get a 114060 to fill the gap. The 114060 is a great and versatile watch!! Then put your older Sub on leather and enjoy the newer bracelet on the 114060. This is how I would have done it.
You already tried the 116710LN for a year and didn't liked it beacause of the PCL's. So why would you like the BLNR? Unless you want to brush the bracelet.. But if you really need a date, then the SD should be a better option. Have you tried them on? Which did you prefer on your wrist? |

BLNR is my favorite on your list and would add the most diversity to your collection. Maybe flip one of your other Subs for the 114060 as well to really mix it up.

SD 4K
As you have already had an 116710LN and didn't quite like the PCL. |

This is my personal view only so please don't get affended anyone.
In my eyes the BLNR is a fad that will wear off because of the fancy dial. It's not much different to the standard version so would you have that watch on your list? It has PCL's that are also a nightmare if scratches are going to bother you? Yes you can get them brushed but why pay for a certain style of watch just to go and pay extra to change it from the original?? If Rolex do bring out another double coloured bezel watch you will see floods of BLNR's being traded in a heartbeat. The SD is a really cool watch but if you have larger wrists the narrow lugs make it look a bit small on but it's also tall on your wrists so for me it never looked right when I tried it on. You are also paying a lot more over the SS Sub mainly for extra depth and your loosing the cyclops. Some see this as a good thing because they don't like the cyclops. Now I was never a LV ceramic lover until I saw this green thing in the sunlight "WOW" It really pops. I had the original LV about 5 years ago and loved it because of the green black combo but I diss liked the old style cheap feeling tinny bracelets. I traded it as soon as all the new style bracelets hit the market and saw this along with the ceramic bezels a huge leap forward. So I went for the SS black Sub and had it for quite a while. Fantastic all rounder! Anyway I went to view some other Rolex's including the Deepsea but in a last minute whim I asked to try on the LV(Hulk) and even though I had another 4 watches on the tray in front of me I just said within about 5 minutes "this one" After seeing it outside the others just did nothing for me at all this included the BLNR. What I also like was it reminded me of my old green black LV as in some lights the dial almost changes to black. So after all my rubbish above I would say try the Hulk on and see it in the sun if possible. You have no PCL's to OCD over,t he durability of the iconic SS Sub with a touch of colour and a amazing dial. Like I said above this is only my opinion and all the other watches are fantastic but just not for me. Try them all and see what makes you shout "WOW" then that's the one to buy! Hope this helps |

Of the ones on your list, the BLNR is my favorite. It seems to be quite popular lately.

BLNR as I think you need something different to the sub based on you selling the Hulk. Even the DJ might be a good idea.

+1 for BLNR. LVc isn't for everyone. I'd get all (SD4K, BLNR & LVc) but that's just me.

Well, you have three Subs already. SDK4 looks almost the same. Yeah, I now the Dweller is a different watch and looks absolutely great. But if I were you, I would go for the BLNR. Good luck with your choice

Hi guys,
Thanks for all your advices! This afternoon, I went to the AD...I was convinced to take the SD4K but...surprisingly the seller offered me an alternative...a new Daytona white dial. I know it is a completely different watch, but I have never owned one, so (together with the very competitive price) I went for "The cosmograph"! I am very happy for my new addition..I hope not to regret my choice
