How do I go about trying to convince you tossers?

Okay, okay....my fault to begin with....crying the proverbial "wolf" very, very often.

But now, let's take a look at the new scenario. Most of you guys would agree that I have TWO of the finest Rollies out there....the gorgeous TT YM introduced just last year in March, and now the ULTIMATE (in most people's opinion, anyway) Sub-date.

Honestly, I will NEVER have the heart to part with any of these. The TT YM is like 8 months old and firmly entrenched itself in the Irani household. Everyone loves it....even my grandkids.

And the 16610...well, I've screamed myself hoarse proclaiming it as the ULTIMATE Rolex, so I would be pretty stupid to go and flip it.

Which now brings us to the BIGGEST problem!! Are my Rolex buying days over? Knowing I am mainly a TWO watch man, what do I do next? No, no....flilpping or trading any of these TWO is NOT an option! But I do have a blue and a black dial....should I get another white to complement them....but, if so, which one? DJs are too damn small for me, so it would have to be a sports Rolex. So how about a white Exp-II - always liked it....but will have to wait or else I'm dead meat. Let the heat simmer down with the wifey and then maybe 6~8 months down the road....

I smell a white SS Daytona in the not too distant future. Mansor should just give JJ one seeing how much he's dropped in his store over the past three years.

I like the way you think, Johnny. Yes, Mansor's would definitely go out of his way to get me one from Rolex HQ, Melbourne and sell it to me at list. But, even at list, it's still a whopping NZ$11,800 (Grey market is NZ$15,000). I genuinely cannot see myself plonking that kind of money down on ONE single watch, that too a Chronograph (a recent experience was bad enough ) and a watch without a DATE...that would just about drive me up the wall. And, hey, I can get a TT Daytona for an extra NZ$1200, i.e. NZ$13,000 from Mansor's any time I like.

Thanks, but no thanks....a Daytona is definitely OUT!! Will just have to wait and see. As I said, let Zemina simmer down a bit for starters!!

Are you bloody nuts? Do you think I've won Powerball? Do you have any idea how much that damn thing costs? Do you think the museum pays me like half a million a year? Do all these questions answer your question?

IMO, wait before you make any decisions.
Since your Grandkids like the watchs, maybe a long term plan for them would be to pass them on to them.
This way, these watches will become special to you and your grand kids will also realize one day, those 2 watches will be theres.
So how could Grampa sell his grandkids property???
You just went throught the white face dilema with that Crosswind.
Just my $0.02.

That is a very beautiful watch and I certainly do admire it....but it does nothing for me....seriously, and this time I do mean it having burnt my fingers twice in recent months, I shall stick with the Rolex only policy. Besides, I love sports watches and only on bracelets...no straps for me.

Yeah Ed, if JJ says Rolex only (just like he did before the Orange Planet Ocean, and then again before the Brietling) then why is it you won't believe him now?

You know JJ, the more you protest and claim that you will never, ever, ever, give up one of these two watches, the more satisfied we all will be when you do.......

JJ, you’re posing a difficult question, nee, problem. You say you’re a two watch guy, you’ll never part with the two you have now, will only buy Rolex, but see another Rolex in the future? It just doesn’t add up. I don’t want to start tossin’ you around yet again but I’ll jog your memory once more:

This is a keeper = Gone in 60 seconds
This is really a keeper = Sold tomorrow
I’ll never part with this one = Sold yesterday
On my wrist forever = Sold within a week

There’s only one thing to do. You’re forum friends (and you have a lot, this is no joke) must decide on what your perfect Rolex is. Seeing you ruled out a chronograph and favour the sports line I will start the proposal with a solid gold Blue Sub.

One more word on all of this and this is not in jest. Your enthusiasm for fine watches and friendliness is an example to the rest of us. Just keep it up and enjoy every part of it my friend.

Well, JJ, right at the start of research training we were taught that there's no such thing as proof - all it takes is one piece of contrary evidence to disprove an assertion. As Frans has pointed out, we've had more than enough contrary evidence!
