At first, I thought it was an eye glasses case that you would keep in your shirt pocket - my grandfather has one.

But when you showed the inside, it looks like a travel carrying case for a watchmaker to put a couple tools in.

Just a guess, I'm probably wrong though.

The only thing I can think of is a crown/chrono pusher removal tool given the shape of the sockets assuming they're small enough. But I'm just guessing.

Most likely a wireless drill adapter tool for manual winding the watch with multiple crown size tools so it fit all your AP watches

(Seriously) I think you are looking at half of an actual tool.

I believe it's basically a screw driver/ socket set, for a device used to hold the watch in place to take apart watches. I could be wrong but I don't think those sockets ever touch the watch... Just the device where pegs are used to HOLD the watch.

Good chance I'm wrong though. Just trying to remember what was in our old jewelers room.

I think you are correct, I couldn't see it fitting anywhere on my old safari! It being double sided, needle nose for pushing something in and socket on the other side, would make me think it is something related to the actual watch rather than another tool.
Who knows! Guess this will remain a mystery and go into the drawer of unknowns. One day it will bring in millions, millions I tell you.
