Tudor North Flag

Ever since I saw it at Basel (from my computer in Toronto, unfortunately) I knew I was probably going to pick one up. I am under the impression that it's looks are somewhat polarizing, but I am a fan of the Genta-ish design. The little splash of yellow spices it up a bit too.

The only thing is that the wait is killing me! I've put down a deposit at my AD and the first one that comes in has my name on it, but it seems to just get pushed back over and over again. They called today and said it didn't show up in the September shipment, so now it's looking like it'll be October. There is an outside chance that I could get it later this month, but they said not to hold my breath. Just needed to vent to people that would get it, because my lady couldn't care less.

/rant.

The waiting sucks! I feel your pain.

I believe US trusted sellers are able to get them fairly quickly (I think I saw at least one for sale on here, hopefully I am not mis-remembering), but I realize that does not help you hugely being in Canada.

Hang in there!

It definitely looks cool. I thought I saw one listed on the other watch forum, it's only 5 days old too.

Ya, there's one on WUS right now for $3,400 USD. Unfortunately the exchange and duty brings that far above Canadian MSRP ($3,980 CAD, which is only $3,000 USD). Couple that with my discount and I paid substantially less than the one listed now.

I am definitely crossing my fingers that it comes in sooner than the end of the month. Once it does, there will be plenty of pics that's for sure.

i am waiting to see one in person too, it looks like a nice watch.

not sure how i feel about the power reserve as it is automatic and has a seconds hand so if it is on the wrist and seconds hand is moving, it shows it is functional and does not matter how much power it has?

but this is not enough to put me off, i love the piece from the internet pics. hopefully the leather strap will be sold separately as both strap options look great

Ah man, that sucks. I'm really surprised it's taken this long for them to make their way up here (or anywhere for that matter). The few wristshots I have seen - are nicer than the promotional pics, IMO.

i always found wrist shots (or at least real life shots) much better looking than the promotional/website pics they show off the pieces much better with real lighting etc.

the website pics are so photoshopped could have just started with a blank page and made the watch pic from scratch

Handled one at Caesars Palace in Vegas over the weekend. Very impressive in the metal!

got the info for Canada in a email
November for Canada :(
---------------------

Hello Randy,

Thank you for your inquiry. We have just been notified by our Tudor rep this week that the North Flag model is further delayed in the Canadian market, and we will not see it in-store until October or November. We are quite anxious to see this time piece as well, and hope it will be October instead of November.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions you may have.
Have a great day,

That's not good! My AD said they're looking into it and will let me know, so when I hear back tomorrow I can confirm or deny the info.

Although I really liked it when I saw in the metal Thursday evening along with a blue Pelagos, for me it's def still the BB red that sings the loudest! However really liked those two as well!

Well from the reports here at least one can say it has been released in some parts. I like the watch, but I would rather pay the extra and get a Ceramic Green Submariner to wear, but that is a lot more $$$.

If you purchased the bracelet model how much do you think they would charge for a extra leather strap

Judging by the price difference between the bracelet model and the strap model, the strap is going to be expensive.

I also forgot to confirm reports that it has been delayed to very late October/early November.

Yeah...the North Flag looked sweet.
Waiting does blow, but hopefully October will bring you a treat and not another trick.

I actually went with an Explorer 1 instead and I couldn't be happier with that decision!

Went to the AD this afternoon here in Calgary and they said end of November
:(
The fellow also said that he was in Toronto 2 weeks ago at a Rolex meeting and there were non at that meeting to look at just a TUDOR PELAGOS case only
So it looks to me like Tudor isn't rushing this small market :(

They should have got it out worldwide before releasing the new Black Bay Black. I think a lot of people are going to skip the Flag for this now.

Agree Adam. The NF, blue Pelagos and BLNR were in stock at my AD last week.

I really like the shape of the NF case. It is very unique. My first reaction was, nah. Don't want that. And then it stayed on my wrist for 15 minutes while we looked at other things.

I am currently in Dubai on holiday and I have seen the North Flag in every Rolex store I've been to so far. Watch looks fantastic in person, especially on the leather strap.

Also the BLNR is available here right now as well. Looks even better in person than it does in pictures.

I think you're right. I went in with every intention of getting the North Flag or Pelagos blue and ended up with a BBB. I would have still bought one of the others had I not seen the BBB.

A update
I went into Birks tonight to see the northflag and they sold out :(
I asked the price and they said $3850 Canadian for strap just under $4000 Canadian for bracelet
They are taking orders for the next ones to come in ( Xmas for me and wife wants a ring so I am out for now )
My calculations is 2857.79 US
They are selling here on the forums for $3000 us
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=435269
FINALY some one is cutting Canadians a brake :)
Thanks Tudor

I still think that Tudor is a tiny brand compared to Rolex and represents a very small percentage of group revenue. They are giving it a push, but I wonder outside what might be s relatively small group of the fans and on this forum how big it is on a worldwide basis. Even here the forum went crazy for a week or two after the Black Bay Black release and then the hype died stone cold. Essentially silence here on discussion of that model for two weeks now.
