Am I crazy?

to purchase a new watch but it was a watch that I had before in my collection? So here is the story. I was on a small vacation over the weekend visting my Dad for Fathers Day and I stopped by a Rolex AD in his city just to take a look and tried on alot of Rolexes.

Tried on a White Gold Silver dial Daytona, a TT white faced Daytona, a Submariner LV, a few Datejusts, and a Datejust Turnograph.

I thought to try the TOG again since I do miss my old one after trading it for my cousin's Subdate and him giving the TOG as a gift to his Dad. Funny thing though is why a Black dial again? For some reason the black dial sings to me more compared to the white.

Anyhow the Daytonas were stunning but was way out of my budget but I would love to own a WG Daytona or even a SS version one day. The Datejusts dials that I tried didn't really float my boat for me. Then I was chatting with the AD and told her I had a TOG before in my collection. Even though out of all the dials on the Datejusts I've seen for some reason this Datejust sings to me more. So she offered me a steal deal on a Z series so after that it was game over for me...

I must admit that I find one of the most comfortable Rolexes out there would be the Datejust:)

Here's my current family

Cheers,

Andy

Beautiful collection Andy, congrats! BTW, you're not crazy, you just realized you made a mistake and to fix it you bought another TOG.

Thanks for understanding my crazyness guys:) I guess it wouldn't be called crazy, more likely a WIS's Illness:P Anyhow I loved the Sub LV as well and it sang to me too but the fact of already having a regular 16610 it might seem odd for me to purchase the LV. Maybe one day I'll sell the 16610 and get the LV to replace it.

Yes you are crazy and that is just fine around here. Very nice watch. If I were to buy a newer, or new, watch; yours would be it.

I really like the TOG and especially the model that you just purchased.
I can well understand your attraction to that watch, it is great.

Nice collection, what do you think of the super-ocean Heritage? i think it looks really smart i tried on the larger version and thought it had such a classic look.

Pardon my ignorance, but what makes the turn-o-graph special among the DJ 'family'? What purpose does the bezel serve, I presume it turnable, but what does it do?

Nice watch :)

Hi Andy...I have the same watch with a slate dial and I love it. From your photos the dial on your model looks more slate than solid black!!!

Andy, I knew you were going to do that eventually, as I recall your dilemma in contemplating the initial trade with your cousin. I think this "deal" worked out for all three parties (you, cousin, his father) in the long run. I'm glad it did.

I think the SOH38 is a very simple clean looking Breitling. Among most Breitlings out there the dials are a bit too busy for my liking but the looks on the SOH is just right. Also my gf wears this watch more then I do and I think it looks very hot on her

Nice watch :)
I don't know what exact purpose of the Turnographs Bezel is for but I use it for time references for meetings in 10-20minutes etc. If it isn't used for that it still brings the great presence and looks for the TOG as it's a sports line for the Datejusts out there.
