Need help deciding on Rolex size for female
Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I'm looking to purchase my first rolex and before I can even think of the watch I want, I need to pick a size. Will the 26 always be in style? I have a tiny wrist but do like the way some of the mens watches look and someone said resale value is always better on the larger sizes, although if probably keep the watch forever. Any help would be appreciated. |

Ooh, I think I can help. My wife has a 40mm submariner and a 34mm Air King. She has slim wrists for sure. Here she is wearing both. She prefers the sub. Will always be her favorite.

My wife has a 36 and a 31. The 26 is somewhat antiquated in her opinion, and gets difficult to read as the eyes age.

My wife prefers and wears 36mm. I think that's the perfect size.

26 is the right choice with a formal attire. Daily use, men sizes is probably more convenient and looks better. Around where I live a Daytona seem to be the most wanted amongst the society girls.

My wife's wrist are very skinny and after trying on many Rolex she settled on the 31mm datejust. Two tone rose gold with diamond VI on the chocolate dial. A nice modern rolex

Here's a 31mm Datejust on my wife's wrist. Perfect size for her IMHO.

That 31mm looks nice on her. Women look so ignorant when they wear MENs sized watches. It'd be as dumb as a man wearing a womans sized watch

My wife and her doctorate degree may disagree with you... She's slender, but at 5'8", a Subc doesn't look too big despite her thin wrists. |

Women should look petite and thin and feminine and therefore should stick to small watches, big watches are for masculine men.

Perfect for my girlfriend is 34mm. 26mm was almost too small to read.

Lot's of women wear 40mm with style.
Take what you like. It will always look better on you that on a man with small wrists.

Like many people have suggested, I think 31 or 36 is a good size. I was talking to a sales woman at an AD in NYC and she was wearing a DateJust 36mm, and said 26mm is very popular with older ladies and more conservative people from the Midwest. However, is what you like what matters.

31mm is perfect. Larger watch fad for women may or may not stay around.

Anywhere from 31 to 36 in my opinion but it all comes down to your taste.

Chaps
I cringe when I read this sort of thread. I would respectfully suggest that any man who thinks he knows what size watch his wife should wear has probably been divorced several times before and has learned nothing in the university of life. The simple rule is to let her decide, not a group of men on a forum. Regards Mick PS I always let my wife choose what she should have and hence we have been married for 44 years and I therefore rest my case. |

My impression was that the OP is female and is the one looking for the watch - not the husband looking for advice on what to buy his wife. Besides I chose my wife's first Rolex and she seemed pretty happy with it. Well, she's not divorced me yet anyway. |

You may regret getting a model that is too small. My wife gets compliments on her watches all the time.

My wife has a 31mm Datejust and a 40mm GMT IIc.
She prefers the GMT by far for style, comfort and legibility, and it's her daily wearer. The 31mm Datejust comes out when she attends the odd "formal" occasion (eg weddings). |
