RSC New York ?

Hello All
My 3 month old GMT II has been running a little slow i.e. 20 - 30 seconds a day. This morning it was 2 1/2 hours slow from last night.
I live in New York and my question is how difficult is it to get an appointment to have the watch looked and typically for something like this is there an approximate time frame for repair?

They don't make appointments there but it's quite easy to be seen there. My advice would be to call them first thing in the AM the day you'd like to go, ask the rep on the phone what would be a good time that day to come in, and try to get in around that time.

Typically, you'll be seen right away, you'll have to wait 10-15 minutes while they assess your watch and in your case it sounds like you'll have to leave it for at least a few hours or maybe days.

When your watch is ready they'll call you and you just go pick it up. Pretty easy experience over at RSC NY.

Well I took it to the RSC in NY this morning. They tested it and found nothing wrong. I left it with them to re calibrate it and will pick it up tomorrow. They said they can't. Figure out what went wrong but that if it happens again to bring it back in. I wish they'd found something because now I will wonder when / if it will stop again.

You do need to keep it wound.

Typically when we hear that the watch is suddenly a couple of hours slow in the morning it is because the watch stopped during the night and then started again when it was picked up.

If you are not active enough your watch will stop on your wrist. Try giving it a full wind once a week and see it it doesn't keep better time.. If it does you know the problem. If not then Rolex needs to take a better look.

You might check that it was fully wound.

I don't know why that would or would not work, but the forum has spoken favorably on it!

Wind it 50 times then check it over next 2 days.

I read on previous threads of similar problems. An alleged fix suggested by RSC Dallas via phone to another member is to give it a full 50 winds and then let the watch sit for a couple days to let the power reserve run out. Then give it 50 full winds and wear as normal. According to the other threads, this worked.

I have been multiple times at RSC NY and the service is great, I agree with most people regarding winding your watch. Last time I was there they returned my Tudor Black Bay with this reminder.

If what you say is correct the maximum regulation via the balance wheel adjusters is around 150 seconds either way.So unless a error on your part being slow 2 1/2 hours there must be another problem with your watch.Just take it to the RSC with your warranty explain your problem, but it seems like it will be more than simple regulation, so could take a bit of time before you get watch back.
