118206

I am in the process of purchasing a daydate 118206. My two options are an earlier version which still has the heavy bracelet(k series) or a newer p series with the rolex engraved inner circle. There is a ten percent difference between the two.

Would like to get some input from the community if it is worth the difference.

Both watches are in similar condition.

Thanks
Peter

Agree with Daytonaman. You definitely want the new clasp; it's wider and contoured
and more comfortable than the older one. When they changed from 18206 to 118206
they went to the heavy bracelet with the old-style clasp, then updated to the new clasp
a couple of years later.

I've seen both K and P versions with both old and new clasps, so there was no clean
switchover point that I can tell.

Also, I didn't realize they were doing the rehaut that early; thought it started around
2005/6. Are you sure it's a 'P' series; might it be an 8-digit random serial number
which happens to start with P? That's a possibility.

I love that model; I've been on the lookout for a while; blue-stick dial for me. Hopefully
you're going for one of the blue dials too...

Yes, the 83206 is the newest clasp.

If it's more than about 5 years difference I'd go with the newer one; check the dates on the
papers as they are slow movers so can be at the dealer for a while before selling; the
sale dates are often several years later than the date range indicated by the serial number.

Let us know what you decide (pictures preferred )
