Welcome to the Forum!
I like what I see.. Looks like one fine watch! Do the papers match the serial? Service history? Does the bracelet have any reference numbers/date stamp codes? Love the colors, accessories, insert, case looks solid, very nice Mk-5 dial.. Hopefully the price is right and you are home with a beaut! |

I know the forum doesn't do valuations, but does anyone have a feel for any appropriate price point for an example of this quality? I'm in the market for something like this, though maybe with a ghost insert, and it's always a bit tough to know what to pay.
Looks like a great piece!! |

Check if the Rolex booklet has the punched serial, if not, the other accessories are ok. I would not worry about the bracelet nor the inner/outer boxes, that would not be a concern for me.

Looks like a Mk 5 dial. Very nice patina. Case appears to be unpolished. Definitely a great buy.

I'll defer to the vintage experts on the details, but I love the look of that dial... and killer patina - perfectly matched hour markers, hands and even the pearl. If everything checks out, and the price is right, I would jump on this one.
PS. Mine says hello.... |

Would this Watch orginally had a Twin Lock or Triple Lock Crown?

Mine (circa 1970) is a triplock
have you seen this site? http://www.doubleredseadweller.com/w.../untitled.html It says: "Crown: Red Subs with case numbers <3M were manufactured with “Twin Lock” Crowns. These crowns do not have “dots” under the Rolex logo. Subsequent crowns had 3 small dots under the crown and were called “Triplock” crowns." |
