Will replacement hands and a new crystal void my warranty
Please pardon if this is a repeat post - I searched but could not find an answer. It's also my first post.
I recently got my first Rolex, the Explorer I - 214270. LOVE IT! If I could change two things; Longer and broader hands - for readability. And a domed Crystal for aesthetic preference. I would want only genuine, not aftermarket parts. (1) Is this possible and (2) would it void my warranty? I've only had it about 7 weeks. Please don't post "learn to love it." I already do. Thanks for your help. |

As long as you put the original parts back on before you sent it in for warranty, I cannot see how they would know. As far as getting a OEM domed sapphire crystal, that will be the challenge. Good luck

Will replacement hands and a new crystal void my warranty
1- anything is possible
2- yes. Only a non rolex repair shop would be willing to do that to your watch. Having your watch serviced by a non-rolex non-authorized service center would void the warranty. The 214270 is a perfect watch. Let sleeping dogs lie |

You could solve both those problems with one of these
To answer your questions though...1. Probably not. 2. Yes. |

Of course it will void the warranty since somebody outside an authorized shop would have to do the work.
Not sure where you would find the parts you seek.

I think you should have bought another watch. Tinkering with it will void the warranty, and things can go wrong as well when you have unauthorized people dealing with your watch. You might be able to find and put on maxi-hands from a modern Rolex (very hard to come by though in the US) but there is no OEM domed crystal for a 39mm Explorer.
