Rolex 31 or rolex 36

Hello ,

I was watching at so many models in the last month, I have read a lot of posts about the "right size" and finally 2 weeks ago I bought my first Rolex 31 mm.(online shop)
Because it is my first watch, I was sure that 31 mm it is the right size for me... but since the trend is the large size, I am thinking to sell it and buy a 36mm. And here is my problem: I don't know if 36 will fit better for me then a 31.
Please give me some advice, I really don't know what to do.
Thank you very much.

Which one is this you're wearing? Looks great.
Instead of size, you need more bling.

That looks perfect on your wrist, my wife had exactly the same combo in a ladies 26mm and she regretted not getting the 31mm. Don't feel you need to go to 36mm

The 31mm looks mighty fine on you. Looks classy, no nonsense and ideal for dressy occassions. If you want to go trendy and casual, go for a Rolex Sports Model like Explorer 1 (36mm), Exp II, Sub, GMT or Sea Dweller. I would still keep your 31mm DJ

I've always thought that Deepsea looks ridiculous on her wrist. Just my opinion of course.

The younger you are the larger the watch you can wear. I think 31mm is fine regardless, but 36mm (let alone 40mm) depends on the lady. My wife is 54 and tried on a 31mm (currently has a 26mm Date Just). She liked it and would probably go that size next time round. She also tried on a 36mm and hated it. I asked her to wear my Submariner a couple of days later but after 5 minutes said she felt uncomfortable with it and thought she looked too butch!
My 23 year year old daughter tried it on and loved it.
Cheers....... Bob.

That watch fits you very nicely indeed. You have about as much band showing as I do when I wear my "undersize" 36, so I can relate to your sense of doubt.

However, it seems to me that the oversize trend is fine with sport watches, but it gets a bit silly looking with dress watches. I look at the pictures of men with dressy clocks on their wrists and can't help thinking it looks like a little boy wearing his father's watch.

Of course, things are a bit different for a woman. A lot of women wear man-size watches nowadays and look just fine.

The 31 looks nice and will remain stylish. If I were you, I would keep it. For what it is worth, my wife tried on the larger models and decided the 31 gold and stainless on jubilee bracelet and diamond dial was perfect for her and that is what she got.

Rolex 31 or rolex 36

I would stick with 31 it looks perfect on. No reason to make a quick decision on this anyway. Wear it for at least a few months then see how you feel. It won't lose any value over those few months.

The 31mm looks great. If you are feeling in-between 31 and 36 try a 34mm. My wife wears a 34mm oyster perpetual and it looks great in her. It's a bit more sporty but it's a great look.

Chaps

My wife is currently on the look out for a Rolex and she has moved from wanting a 26mm to a 31mm.

However, the 26mm does still look good but anything above 31mm does look a bit butch.

Regards

Mick
