AP diver discount?
what kind of discount from an AD can be expected for the AP diver??
Rolex is obviously tight on their SS model discounts and I have heard AP is pretty good at discounting... that said...why the big MSRP by AP if a big discount is the norm??? why is a BIG 3 'haute horology' company offering big discounts?? does Patek? Vacheron?? perhaps I am wrong....interested to hear what % off to be expected when purchasing the AD diver as it seems to be a pretty popular model that sells well... thanks in advance |

it depends on your relationship with the AD.

I would buy on the forums if your really looking for a discount. You can get an AP diver on here for 12k~

AP doesn't like ADs giving discounts. That's why they are opening their own boutiques with boutique only pieces and even cutting dealer margin. Long term it will stabilize their prices on the secondary market.
On larger produced models like the diver you can get 10-20% off but it's dependent on your relationship with the AD. For rarer produced models you might get 0-10%. Same is true for all brands PP, VC, ALS, RM, Rolex, etc. Patek 5711 you're getting 0%. Patek 5980r you can get 15%+. Same with Rolex SS vs PM and the list goes on. If you don't have a good relationship with an AD I would recommend talking to one of the TRF trusted sellers. |

I got 10% on my ceramic diver after some negotiations, normally this piece is known for being impossible to have with a discount, but I was dealing with the director, a TRF member wanted to get a 15400, not even blue dial, from the same place and he was offered 0 discount when the 15400 isn't a boutique edition and is made in much larger numbers than the diver, but he was dealing with a salesperson, so a lot depends on luck and the relation you have with the person from AP, but I can say the 10% discount plus 17% tax refund since I got in France but am ukrainian resident really made my day, I would not have paid the MSRP of 23.500 euros, no way!!!!!
