Cherry Day-Date??

I got this off the Rolex website, but a message came up saying that this dial/watch combo was not available in my region...

Has anyone seen/know of this model????

I think Rolex call this a 'cherry' dial.
I have seen it on a strap/clasp but not with a bracelet.

From my location, the Rolex site does call the dial "Cherry" but only shows a strap option.

Link for me: http://www.rolex.com/watches/day-date/m118239-0288.html

CHERRY DIAL
Model features
The dial is the distinctive face of a Rolex watch, the feature most responsible for its identity and readability. Characterised by hour markers fashioned from 18 ct gold to prevent tarnishing, every Rolex dial is designed and manufactured in-house, largely by hand to ensure perfection.

FYI that verbiage about the dial is exactly the same for every day date dial

That is interesting because when I click on the link at the top of your post it takes me to the Rolex website and a pop-up window displays this message:

"The model that was shared with you is not part of your region's online selection.
Official Rolex Retailers can provide assistance with any watch in the Rolex collection.
"

I then called a local AD and they said they cannot get that model.....

Never seen this on a bracelet. I thought it was only available on a strap.

They have the WG version at South Coast Plaza.
If it was 41mm I would have swooped it in a heartbeat.
It's a sunburst magenta dial, which is something else to look at.

I just tried it, and it gave me my nearest ADs, so I guess it's available in the States.

If you are seriously interested I'll be glad to put you in touch with my contact at my AD. I have bought all my Rolexes from the same sales person, HIGHLY recommended

I didn't know that Rolex now has 'region specific' models....

Just when you thought there was some predictability to the way Rolex operates, they throw another curve ball at you.

I recall a limited edition turnograph for the Japanese market just before it was discontinued

According to the site here in the USA there are 237 options listed for the 36mm alone, including this combination I wouldn't have expected.
Gold, smooth bezel w oyster bracelet.

The official dial catalogue lists this dial as an available option for a 118239 so an AD should be able to order it.

I haven´t seen this version on display yet but other DD36 variants with president bracelet and dials that were originally released with the newer 11813x strap models, i.e. the green dial in a 118238.

Undecided, though it is the only DD I've seen that I think looks good with a smooth bezel.
