Perhaps? Maybe it has another name in other countries? (trunk / boot, soccer / football)

Relax it was just a jab about his user name being the "Rolex Authority" as he should have known the answer to his own question as he is the "authority". Geez...just a little harmless interweb sarcasm.

Yes, in some literature, but it's widely called a crown. You'll see "button" once in a while though.

Funnily enough on my Rolex RSC service quote it's referred to by RSC as button here in UK very strange why not put crown.

Are you sure they don't mean one of your Daytonas push buttons?

No this is for service of a 1665 DRSD not Daytona.
Daytona buttons I can understand if used but here it's being referred to a Sea Dweller. Interesting term for sure wonder if anyone else who has recently got a service quote from RSC ( non Daytona ) eg for a dive watch , GMT if it mentions word button or crown ?

No it's ok you're right in some cases in here you do need a thick skin when you post questions and see some responses I have seen some very harsh comments / insults made also which you're right are totally unecessary and anyone without a thick skin would be offended

Relax guys, that was pretty funny, and very tame compared to what's mostly out there.

I use crown, but I've heard it called both.
Rolex themselves refer to it as the winding button on their "how to regulate" notes from way-back-when.
