Posted this on WUS as well.

Last night my wife showed me her grandfather's old watch, a vintage Abercrombie & Fitch Co. made by Brevet. See the picture below. I'm trying to learn all I can about this watch as I haven't been able to find any information on it yet. From what I do know it's roughly 34mm across, manual wind, and has an alarm function. It winds smoothly and runs for a few minutes before stopping, so I'm sure it needs a service.

Where could I go to find out more about this watch? Thanks!

Looks similar to a tudor advisor, I know rolex and Abercrombie had contracts together in the 20's and possibly 30's but this would be much later. Brevet means swiss I think.

I thought "brevet" means patented, when it's on watches?

You're correct I was thinking of brevet + and thought Swiss cross for some reason

Didn't mean to bust your chops, i remember the word on some old sub crowns.

No problem, I learned it wrong so I always second guess the real meaning. Just like alpga and dauphine hands

Any pics of the back of the watch? Would help determine who contracted it to Abercrombie possibly.

I'm guessing it's late 50's early 60's. Looks like the same configuration as many of the AS movements had that were in a lot of the older alarm watches
