If price was no object, which Rolex would it be?

If price was no object, which Rolex would it be? I'm cashing in my chips on the embattled stockmarket and am rewarding myself. I don't like bling so that thankfully excludes the bejewelled versions.

Should it be YG, TT or SS? Should it be the Daytona or the GMT IIc? I'm looking for ideas. (I already have an SS Oyster Date). Which would you buy? (I'm assuming I can't get a SS Daytona).

Some really great suggestions - thanks!

Now you've got me thinking about waiting for the 40mm new DD - I specifically like the Platinum, but I've already been waiting ages to buy one next week. I need to buy in Johannesburg so they probably won't get the new ones until Christmas do you think?

Is there a good U.S. "link" for these vintage pieces (similar to this one). All of the good ones seem to be in U.K. My friends in London are definitely classy... Just wondered if there are any U.S. alternatives that the forum knows about.

Thx

WG Daytona with one of the awesome arabic number dials or the meteorite dial would be pretty nice.
If you wear YG, there are some VERY nice Daytona models also. The TT watches have good options ---and I'm not sure of the size of your reward.
GMT-IIC is a really nice watch, but the YG models are black or green dials only. See if you like them.
If you'll wear these other two 40mm watches why not a gold or TT bluesy Sub? Some think the TT Bluesy is the most attractive Rolex ever made. The cobalt blue is perfect.

Can you cash out and wait a few months? The new DDIIs and new Subs will be available. Some nice ones to chose from.

I agree on the WG Daytona/arabics. Silver or black dial. Or why not a YG Day-date? It's like owning half of Ft. Knox! Good Luck.

X2 - WG Daytona - Arabic Silver dial - Black would be awesome too! Tried one on - very very nice. You know for sure that it is not the SS. Love the Red hands on the watch - very cool....

I'd go for a all gold DayDate !! Its the daddy - and a very nice example can be picked up for a fraction of its original MRSP.

Either the hopefully upcoming new Sub (ceramic bezel), or an SD. Use the leftover money for a BMW M3. :)

That would be my first option. A DD II Platinum with romam numbers. My guess is that they won´t be discounted for a while since they are going to be brand new designs.
