NYC Diamond
Looking to get a GIA certificate for a diamond that is currently set in a ring. Does anyone know a trustworthy jeweler in Manhattan that can remove the stone for me?
Thanks! |

You want to have the stone removed and then have GIA grade it?
Their US lab in on 47th st but I believe you still need to mail it in. |

The lab on 47th St. requires that the stone is removed from the setting prior to their examination. They would not recommend a local jeweler.

I have a place on the island that will gladly remove it for you, no concerns at all about them stealing/replacing/altering, etc.

NYC Diamond

I posed a question for you because it's obvious Nobody can certify a mounted diamond. If your looking for a jeweler to remove the stone, there are about 100 different Jewelers on 47th that Will remove it in front of you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Some of those shops look kind of shady. I was looking for a recommendation. Similar to using a trusted seller for a watch versus a random seller on 47th St.

NYC Diamond
Are you new to the city? Nobody in the diamond district is going to risk their business and reputation to pull a fast one on a guy with a diamond. Go to Fairfield Jewelers on 6th and 47th. Ask for Abraham. It's his little booth and he is the only employee

We had my wife's wedding ring made by D'Auria on 47th. It was a recommendation from her co-worker and turned out great.
