That's gotta suck, poor bastards.....
They park their Star Wars transformer after a shift only to get inside of some mundane mode of transportation to go home.

Over here they go home in a crew van (home is a barracks).

The video really doesn't capture the intensity of USAF flight ops. The noise and vibration is incredible. The Bone rumbles you from a mile away when it roars out of town.

Ha! Hanging up the keys for their F-22 only to have to walk outside and hop in their Kia. Epic.

If you've spent the morning doing 9G turns and high speed aerobatics at the edge of human endurance, do you really need to race home in an exotic? Maybe the soccer mom ride is the way to decompress

Cool. Saw the F22 at RIAT a cpl year ago, the flip up from near vertical take-off was very impressive.

I've talked to a cpl of old Vulcan pilots who had good stories about when they took AV Roe's finest to Red Flag and left F4's, F15's and the like in their wake (literally).

Well, the F-4 was flying in the early to mid 60's. My father flew one of the first ones from The McDonnell Douglas plant back to I think Tuscon. I'm sure the raptor could smoke either the F-4 or F-15 pretty easy now days.

Here's a pic of the F-35 which is like the Harrier jump jet and the F-22

Good to see the F15s from the 131st, Massachusetts ANG representing (formerly out of Otis a few miles from Mom's - was great to see them on final)

Growlers and Typhoons plus a lot of extra sweet kit @ Nellis

Brother in law would hop into a Prius after he left work in the B52

F-35 Lightning program is a mess. The navy version is like 335 million per aircraft.

I understand the helmets, just the helmets are 400K. Plus the pilots weight can't be less then 140lbs due to an ejection issue.
Something like during an ejection it could break their necks.

The F35 is what will replace my aircraft, the F-18 Hornet. Back in the day, we had the newest-most Bad A## aircraft in the inventory, now, those 35s would eat us for breakfast.

I'm not so sure Paul. They've got a bit of sorting out to do on the F35 yet. FMS buyers are getting antsy.
