IWC Da Vinci...Update
I shall keep this short.
The Da Vinci will not be sitting back on my wrist. Once it has been repaired it will go back to the AD, where it will be re selling. After a lot of deliberation I have decided, not to keep it. And yesterday I went to my AD and did a deal for a PP Y/G 5146. The model that you see as my Avatar. But not the actual watch. Except that mine has a black strap. Though many may say that I didn't give it a chance and to a degree I do agree. But I was left wandering what else maybe wrong with the watch. And that was enough for me. Thank you, to all those members that offered me their advice and support.

What went wrong with it?
I think the Patek will be a better choice but then again i love Patek ( even though i have never owned one)

I got slightly disheartend. And then I decided, that if I was going to get a watch, to keep and then pass on. I might as well get, what is considederd to be the best brand of watches in the world.

Why use the IWC as a stepping stone to the 5146, if you can buy the PP? Congratulations - PLEASE give us a thorough review with photos!

The calibre is 315 S IRM QA LU
I hope to do a a review of the PP in a couple of weeks time and take some photos. It wasn't my intention to use the IWC as a stepping stone, but when the watch had some defects and had to go back. I started to think about and research the PP.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the IWC Tony. I know they make some great watches, but I too think you'll be much happier with the Patek as well.
Congrats.

I have sometimes read mixed feelings on the Da Vinci, but for a perpetual, it's quite good value for money, but yeah, for a heirloom piece that can be passed down to your children, then you can get better than a PP :-)

Its been four years, he probably doesn't even remember what he didn't like with the IWC in the first place And his avatar is not displaying a 5146 anymore either. A lot can happen in this time span
