New Tag Heuer Carrera 01...

I know this is an AP forum but thought I share the new TH Carrera 01 anyway, i tried it at my local AD, I am positive towards it, it is for sure aimed towards the crowd that like AP ROO and Hublot BB but at a lower price point (list 5500 USD)....

You can see that Mr Biver is involved in the design as it is very Hublotish....

So, does it fly, my fellow AP lovers?....

It's a cool design. Sad fact is, that it will be worth 30% of the retail in 2 years. TH resell value is very soft at the best of times.
It will be interesting to follow the brand over the next few years though, now that Biver has said it will be his main priority.

I like it. Would consider owning it, but probably by on secondary market to I wouldn't be killed on resale value.

They also came out with an interesting tourbillion for around $15k list price.

There was a time when I would have been all over that. That time has passed though. Cool watch for the right buyer.

I think one has to enjoy the skeleton design to enjoy the watch. As for me, it is not the type of timepiece I would look for from TH or any other brand.

It is nice however as others stated the loss when flipping keeps me away from TH.

Yeaa, but the upside is that TH can be had a very high discount even from ADs so paying list is not an option, also i would not mind getting a pre-owned in a year for even less...

I do think it looks pretty cool and comes at a significant discount to a similar Hublot. The primary downside for me personally is the large case and longer lugs, both of which don't work on a small wrist.

I would consider it as a beater if it was 50% of the RRP.

bought it brand new with a 35% discount. Thinking that it has an in-house chronographic movement (ok ok based on a Seiko project) with column wheel, skeleton dial, titanium case, ceramic bezel... IMHO it offers a lot of bang for the buck!
