Part of the Collection, Platinum Day-Date, and Gold Day-Date
Greetings! Well, I'm back under a new name because I can neither remember my password or what e-mail address I used the first time I signed up... ... I hope that is OK. Since the last time I've managed to add another watch to the collection... *sigh*... what have I got myself in to. Well this is my birthday present to myself for the year 2084... First with the "old" one, which you may remember from here (http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=20485). She is still doing well, although recovering from a little incident.
Full version here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/syume/2...n/photostream/ And the newest one... Full version here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/syume/2...n/photostream/ I didn't PURPOSELY buy it. I was on my way out of the Country when the night before the bracelet for my platinum day date literally fell off, something they have never seen happen before, and couldn't be fixed anywhere in North America. It ended up being sent to Geneva, and I was loaned this watch from my AD while the other one was away. I liked it so much I had to have it. I think they knew that was going to happen. |

The new one looks like the cat's meow and very beautiful.
A friend of mine has its twin and it always makes me sigh appreciatively when I see it. |

Beautiful Day Date. Ever sice the early 80's when I was introduced to Rolex, I think the pecking order has been the Gold Day Date, TT DJ, and the SS Sub. For me that was true in 1982 and 2008. I love the classic Rolex watches. Most newer Rolex watches have too much bling in my opinion. The newer peices have their place, but I am more a traditional Rolex man.

Really nice Day-dates!
My only thing is I never warmed up to the diamonds on men's watches. At one point I inherited several diamond laden Rolexes, one of them having more then 6 carats of diamonds on it (two 2-carat stones, and two one-carat stones). I sold them all. I own only one Rolex with stones- and my wife wears it. |
