Weekend warrior wearing Rolex
I've been wearing my new 114060 Sub while working in the garage and I'm wondering what kind of risk I'm putting the mechanicals of my watch in. I don't hammer with the hand I wear it on but I do use the drill/screw gun and circular saw. And I've been using a cordless pneumatic framing gun with it as well (I guess that doesn't sound good as I type this). I'm thinking I'll take it off for that part next time.
The thing is, I love wearing the watch and never want to take it off. I've had it on nonstop since I got it a few weeks ago except for showering and that's just as a preference. I also wear it in the hotub and expect that's not a problem either. I guess I'm interested to learn how rough folks get with their watches and what the limit it. Btw, I'm trying to get my home office out of the house by summer. A fun little project. |

I do everything with mine on except forcefully use a hammer (i.e. Framing, driving stakes, etc). Besides that, and honestly probably not even that, I don't see anything else I'm going to do generating enough shock to harm the movement.

If you think there is a good chance it could get physically damaged is the only time I would take it off. Personally I don't wear mine to the gym because of all the large heavy objects being thrown around.
On a side note regarding the hot tub. Chemicals are used to keep the hot tub clean I would wash your watch with soap and water regularly if exposing it to chemicals. That being said. It would take a long time for it to have any effect on the 904L steel in my opinion. |

Isn't there a ban on showing power tools on this site; read the rules. (j/k). Nice photos.

Haha. I hear ya. It's just the life and times of Kevin's watch and this was his first real activity since being adopted into the family. I'll try to keep it to fun and adventurous. |

You'll be fine in a modern reference.
Keep your watch off using a jackhammer or at the batting cage |

It's a known fact that he wore that piece through basic training, which was probably more rigorous than whatever you and I did this weekend...

Since basic training, I agree, he probably hasn't done much...

Short of driving a nail through it, or sawing it in half, I'd wear the watch everywhere.

You'll be fine. My dad used to work for an oil company, on off shore rigs. You could not believe the abuse that Rolex was subjected to. Never skipped a beat.
