Submariner on the wrist
Earlier than expected, a no date sub turned up at my local AD. Unfortunately it came in after I had to spend the money I would have bought it with if it was there a couple months ago, and I haven't had the chance to save for it again. On the plus side I've now tried the exact watch I was considering buying on. It's bigger than the watches I'm used to wearing (which I expected), but I don't think it looks way too big as I thought it might. I've attached the quick wrist shot I took with my phone today - I'd be curious to know what others think, but I think it works. Also, I have to say that the watch itself looks better in real life than in any pictures I've seen of it anywhere!

You're good! About 6,5" - 6,7" wrists? Seems similar to mine and I couldnt be happier with the 114060.
Also true about photos, I'm having a tougher time taking good pics of the subc than my omega. Partly due to the flat Crystal with no exterior AR, the omega 300 doesn't either but the domed crystal helps. Also it's difficult to capture that amazing brushed 904 steel on camera! |

I agree. Size looks fine on your wrist.
SubCs can be tough to come by for ADs in Oz. Good luck in getting it next time around. It's a true classic. |

Thanks all, and Lakris - yes I think my wrists are around the 6.7" mark from memory. Seeing this today prompted me to advertise my two professional camera bodies for sale tonight. They are what earns me my money, however the model I have is about to be replaced so I figured I should sell them before I make too big of a loss on them. If I sell them before the sub sells (wish me luck!), then that sub will be mine. I have another camera that I can use temporarily and will be replacing them with one camera that is a model below the ones I had but plenty good enough still. Unlike digital cameras, at least the sub should hold its value well. As a bonus, I have learned a valuable business lesson. After a couple of years in business for myself I'm now ready to make buying equipment about what is both a practical and financially intelligent decision rather than just buying the best just because I could. Watches, well that's another story. Since its a personal item I'll buy what I want, even if I have to make other sacrifices to do so.

Looks great. The 114060 may be my favorite watch of all time. I like the look, wear and toughness of the watch.

Looks good! I too have a small wrist, but the 114060 works.
I'm an amateur photographer, and I prefer to buy my equipment (and my watches) used. I don't need or use (and often don't understand) a lot of the new features (wifi, for a camera, really?) and just recently went from DX to FX (Nikon D600). The depreciation on the bodies came as quite a shock to me, but I guess that's the nature of an electronic item these days. Fortunately good lens hold their value well. I digressed... Don't worry about getting enough money to buy that watch before it's gone. They'll make another one soon enough.
