Golfers with their Rolex

Just wondering what you guys do with your watches when you golf? I generally don't like to wear it out on the course but if you guys are traveling and golfing, do you guys leave it back at the hotel or wear it to the course? If you wear to course, do you guys leave them in your golf bag during your round? I get paranoid about leaving it in the bag and someone taking it while I'm out on the greens or grabbing something from the clubhouse.

As far as I know "they" always say you should not wear a machanic watch while playing golf because hitting a golf ball will give a lot of shocks and vibrations which can demage the watch.

I wear mine. I feel weird not having something on my wrist. There are some who say you might damage the movement. I'm not worried about it.

I guess it's all personal preference in terms of wearing it while you play. I generally don't like feeling extra weight on my wrist during my golf swing. Also i guess it depends on how tight/loose you wear your watch as well. If you tend to wear it loose, you would have a lot of movement on your wrist during your swing.
Do you guys who wear it to the course, store your watch in your golf bag during the round?

Don't golf much anymore but did a lot in the past. Didn't wear a watch (or ring) when I did because it bothered me - wasn't worried too much damaging the watch - I also would empty my pockets. Always left watch and $, keys, etc in my golf bag and never had a problem. I can't really see a likely scenario when someone would steal that stuff while I was on the course. Watch, and $, back on or in the pockets once I reached the club house or if I took a break away from my bag at the turn - typically needed $ for those things anyway.

I had a bluesy for 15+ years and always wore it while golfing. I never had any issues.

Golfers with their Rolex

I used to hit balls and play wearing my sub all the time, then I started wearing a GPS/yardage watch. I've got a green rolex pouch in my bag that my watch goes in. .
If I was at an unfamiliar club or outing etc, I'd either leave it in the car, leave it on, or put it on whenever leaving my bag for some time.

if you play anything like i do i would take it off

would not want to subject the watch to so many duff shots

often hurts my wrists dont want to think about what its doing to a mechanical timepiece!

Going to the club I typically leave at home or goes in a special fleece lined pocket in my bag if I'm playing a friends club. Comes out on the 19th hole. I dont like anything on the wrists playing golf. Don't need another excuse for poor play :). My Garmin golf GPS device (not for wrist) clips on a belt or hat.

When I played, I kept it on or put it in a pouch that I placed in a zippered compartment of my golf bag. Played with the assistant pro at Pebble Beach, who told me about a crow flying away with a pouch that had a Rolex in it.

Assuming a true story and what a nightmare!

Watch goes in casebudi, which goes in pouch in bag with keys and wallet. Whenever I enter the clubhouse I bring it with me. I don't worry about it on the course. Never seen someone run out of the woods and steal a bag lol

Wow... Why did you guys buy a sports watch if you're too afraid to use it? I wear my watch for everything--I subject it to a lot of vibration and shock everyday. It's a tool watch; meant for abuse. These things aren't paper mache...c'mon already...

completely agreed, these things are built like a panzer tank, you won't believe it until you actually see if for yourselves.

The other day I accidentally smashed my BLNR across a wall VERY VERY HARD, I looked at my wrist with 100% certainty that it was going to be broken and there was dry wall chunks and particles covering the watch, but the thing was 100% pristine after blowing it all away, if that knock didn't damage it then nothing will.

I don't wear mine while I play. I find it uncomfortable to have anything on my wrist while I play.

This I understand. If it's a comfort issue and would affect your play, I get it. But to be afraid of subjecting the watch to vibrations and shocks? Why wear it then? What about clapping your hands at a concert or game??? Lol...

Unless you're trying to avoid EVER sending your watch in for service, which is VERY unreasonable, wear your watches, guys! You'll never get this day back, and you can't take your toys with you!

I've worn my explorer with no noticable mechanical damage during several rounds.

I wouldn't have a watch that I couldn't wear while playing a round of golf.

The other day at work, I was on a Crown order picker, and I turned down an aisle and clipped a bracket in the floor that was sticking out... Since I was only going 2-3 mph, the bracket was able to stop the machine dead... Now I didn't bang the watch on anything, but the "crash" sent all of the energy through both wrists, as I was able to brace myself... My point? I didn't even think twice about my TT Sub...

I normally put it with my wallet and phone in a little bag in the buggy. I don't wear it simply because it bothers me when I swing the club. Soon as the game is finished its back on the wrist.

I find it uncomfortable to wear whilst playing. So mine goes in my casebudi and in the bag.

My golf bag, as pretty much all do now, has a small "hidden" valuables pocket with a soft lining. I also have a felt "watch bag" from Titleist that the watch I'm wearing goes into, then that goes into the little pocket, before I play or practice.

Take it off for comfort, not concern for "hurting the watch", as I can't make a solid swing while wearing a watch although if I were making the check that Mickelson, Fowler or Watson do for being seen with a watch on while playing could quickly get used to it ;-)

I keep my car keys in the same pocket to help me not forget my watch when leaving the course.

I wore my Rolex while playing golf for over 20 years. Never thought twice about it hurting the watch.

The only reason I stopped was because I started wearing a Garmin GPS watch. It easily took 2 strokes off my handicap and saves immense amounts of time estimating distances.

I can't swing while wearing a watch so I usually leave it at home. Otherwise I just stash it in the lined pocket in my golf bag. Hurting the watch never even crossed my mind, just too uncomfortable to wear while playing.

I hear this a lot. I can't understand how a watch can effect someones swing?
