Worth the money? (Large pic)

This is a new chronograph by Dunhill. Turning the bezel retracts the buttons. At 3,250 Pound UK I find the price a bit steep. And I think it's fugly

Thats one ugly watch but will sell because of the Dunhill name. And like this new Hamilton to be unveiled at Basil 2006 bloody awful IMO.And not even original : the Graham swordfish descended that particular road, but more symmetrical.

Well, you can begin to understand it when you see the team that designed that watch!

Hope that's not a Rolex on Frack's wrist!

This one looks pretty similar to that Hamilton. Wonder who designed it?

A chinese guy named "Me Rob Sum Guy" built that one in his basement in Hong Kong

I have to say that after seeing some Dunhill's this past weekend, I'm not keen on any of them. I also saw this fugly thing in person - I can't fathom who would want to wear such a piece of crap......

I agree,, it's pretty fugly. It's got potential, but a long way to go between potential and good execution.

Are any of these really worth the money? My gut would say probably not, but I still love 'em.

But I would not pay what they are asking for that watch, it is all about whatever floats your boat though.

Like the idea of retracting buttons, but could be just another thing to break or go wrong.

I don't like the looks of it, but always appreciate a watch manufactuer that tries something new. I will give them credit there.

I saw that same article in a magazine, and was bowled over by its ugliness - but nothing could prepare me for the shock I had when I saw it in the flesh! - Selfridges has a Dunhill concession, and when I was browsing I came across it in a case - and it is truly horrible! - why would someone spend any cash on it? - oh, and it looked very 'cheap' in terms of finish etc - ugh!

I would say this forum is better that the Panerai forums I've visited.
I was welcomed with open arms here on my first post. I've posted a few on a couple of Panny forums, barely got a response.
This forums format is also better than any others I've seen.

John, it's hard to disagree with you. But also, Paneristi and viapaneristi have been around forever and have way more members, so you can get lost in the crowd. I've had questions left unanswered for weeks on both forums cuz I'm an 'unknown'. However Panereh is very much like here in terms of welcoming and friendliness, but then again, they have fewer than half as many active members as we do.

But if you've seen other Rolex forums, you quickly find out that this one is by far the most fun, with the most leanient and evenhanded mods, and most colourful by far. The others are either run by militant egomaniacs, and/or attract the WIS-wannabe-I-wear-a-rolex-cuz-I'm-rich-and-want-you-to-stroke-my-massive-ego types. I think we know them when we see them. They stand out like a sore thumb here and leave pretty quickly when the stroking isn't apparent.

BTW, this place rocks!
