Is the Submariner a must for your collection?

Thoughts?

Not in my case. Tudor Black Bay covers that angle for me.

Absolutely, yes, I needed a Sub!

I got the Daytona first, but the Hulk was high on the list for next watch. After I got PADI dive certified last year, then a dive watch became top of the list. Got on the Hulk waiting list at my AD last September, watch came in December and I bought it. I've worn it non-stop since then!

Having a Sub is compulsory. It's the law!

IMO, the Sub is one of the most classically beautiful and visually appealing designs in all of horology. As such, I consider it to be an absolutely essential sports watch. Here's my quartet.

I don't think a collection is defined by what pieces are in rather by pieces that matter to you

Yes for me. It is the quintessential sport watch and, in my opinion, the most iconic Rolex.

Not for me. I have an Explorer 39mm and hope to add a Black Bay Black later in the year. That will nicely fill in the diver category and I happen to like it better than the Sub.

I will say yes since I have a SubC, a vintage Tudor Sub, and a BBN. I'm dive watch friendly.
