Your advice on PT DD40 Dial

I have decided to acquire a bnib PT DD40. Got a favourable deal worked out with a local AD. Now I have to choose which dial to go with. Which one would you suggest? The diagonal motif dial with full index markers or the quadrant motif with combination Roman/index markers?

Your advice/input is much appreciated. I currently do not own a Rolex. This PT DD40 would be a permanent addition to my collection which includes a WG Langematik PC, a SS AP 15305 Openworked, a PP 5164 Travel Time, and a FC ROO Jarno Trulli).

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I think personally I would take the quadrant piece. That being said, I have a rose gold diagonal.

Diagonal 100%. It might be close if they both had index markers but the Romans don't do it for me because I prefer lume. Good luck and congratulations. Either way you're going to have an amazing watch.

Thank you to everyone who've given their suggestions so far. Interesting to note that local watch enthusiast friends have recommended the Quadrant dial, but the Diagonal dial seems to be the more popular choice with fellow TRF-ers. Thanks again for your input.

If Romans fit any watch, it is a Day Date. You can't go wrong with Romans. For sticks/batons/markers, etc. any other Rolex will do it. IMHO.

Sticks, but I would say Platona if that was at all in consideration.

Great suggestion. I have always wanted to love the Platona but the brown ceramic bezel throws it off for me. Strictly my own opinion though. It is still a gorgeous watch.

Diagonal on the 40. On the DD2 I prefer the Blue Romans. The deconstructeds 3D effect works best in gold, like bricks of bullion.

Congrats in advance! I'm partial to the diagonal motif dial, but it's a win either way. One consideration is the lack of lume on the Roman dial. Looking forward to the incoming pics!

I mich prefer the motif dial on the platinum model. I do like the modern Romans on the quadrant dial as well, but prefer them on WG.

Sorry bro, I have never seeked input from fellow TRF-ers before so I wasn't sure how to "set up" a poll.

Roman for me also. Although I have to say, I was really looking at the dia. motif at first. But having seen the roman in person, it looks GREAT!
