PVD Milgauss
I know most of you guys are going to choke on your cornflakes when you see this, but I like it.
Now a GV - that would be freakishly cool.

Foooooooook!!!! That black-faced one is the balls!!! I want it.
I have never seen such a positive reaction to a PVD Rolex in these hallowed halls. Im sure the naysayers will follow shortly, but for now I am going to enjoy this black-coated moment.

Of all the PVDized Rollies I've seen the black dial Milgauss is the only one that really "pops" in my book!

Just hope the finish holds up.
Can you PVD a variety of materials? Panny folks used to complain about durability of PVD and others seem to find it "bullet-proof." |

It depends on the hardness of the PVD coating vs the hardness of the base-material. They should be about the same. In cases where the PVD is harder, then cracks become prevalent. If softer, well, this is rarely the case.

How does one go about getting a PVD'd Milgauss? The black face is absolutely stunning. Looks better than Panny PVD IMO.

Love the black face. Very stealth.
Should the PVD be shiny? I thought it was supposed to be matt?

I like it for thechnology's sake, but the huge $$ drop in value over time YIKES!
Will RSC even service it? It looks great and I wish Rolex would offer some in-house custom finish options. Like taking my Porsceh to RUF for a "factory approved modification". Didn't Cartier at one point confiscate watches that had dials redone with diamonds by a jewler because they claimed copyright or trademark infringement? Nonetheless, your Milgauss is really slick!

I forgot about the physics behind the soft iron Faraday Cage Rolex uses for the inner casing and it superior antimagnetic shielding.
College ended 20 years ago, mind is going.

IMO my GV is perfect just as it is.
I think changing it to black would be an expensive operation. Once you have managed to get one of these trust me when I say that you would not have it taken to bits just to do this to it.
