Take a look at the new AirKing (what Daytona)

Okay, so everyone is drooling over the updated Daytonas (and rightfully so), but the updated AirKing looks significant. New dial, contrasting colors, extra antimagnetic shield, 40mm case (not a dinky watch anymore), AND a LIGA designed very anti-magnetic balance wheel.

This will be one watch that I'll be considering.

Good to know Sheldon.. would at least get to see some great pics!

I don't know if anyone can change dial on design tool and add 15, 30 and 45 on 369 place. That would be the best watch IMO and replace majority of IWC models and get their customers!!

Like a Milgauss light!
Hopefully you will have greater luck securing one of these, than the rest of us who want the Daytona (and I suspect you will).

I like the new Air King. Glad to see Rolex bring it back! Great heritage.

If they replaced the 3, 6, 9 with 15, 30, 45, it would look much nicer. As-is, the dial is a mess. JMO

I can't help but think the only reason they're using 3, 6, 9 is to recycle the leftover parts from the now discontinued Explorer 1s. Dial looks too messy.

They should have used the 3, 6, 9, from the new Exp 1 dial. Would have looked a little more together.

Great to see the AK back, but I find the three 5s at the top of the dial very distracting.

VERY cool new piece but I can certainly sympathize with getting rid of the 3,6,9 and keeping the dial consistent. Either way, I really like the new military-ish look and the subtle use of color on the dial/second hand. Nice little modern touch to add to the already rocking Rolex offerings

This is a model I had ignored. The new dial and size intrigues me. I imagine that the price point will make it very attractive to first time buyers, specially regular folks, not the watch geeks on the board like me and rest of the people on here.

I thought the same thing. Makes it very recognizable as a Rolex even without a cyclops.

The writing and crown on the dial in different colours is unique.

Not a fan of the numbering though.

I can just see it:

Is is safe to teach your kid how to tell time on the Air King?

Dial is too busy, pretty much a milguass IMHO which is a bit silly IMHO to introduce a watch so similar.

Looks like an Explorer with an ugly dial to me. I just don't know what they were thinking with this model.

not a fan of the dial at all. not quite sure what they were thinking. Mercedes hands, monster case, gold crown with wg surrounds? why they didn't just use the crown as the 12 oclock marker and have it match the rest of the indices is beyond me. the super sized AK font in the old style with nothing that resembles what an Air King has ever been in my opinion is just awful. I've never hoped a watch would fail before, but maybe it's time to re-retire the Air King if this is what they're going to put out under the badge. it's like the Cadillac Catera of the watch world lol

Does anyone know the US price? It's probably posted in one of the many threads, but haven't found it yet. Thank you.

Edit: Looks like $6100. I think most people will spend the extra $500 or so to get the Explorer.
