Grateful Dead - Brent Mydland Rolex DD?

Just saw this clip from 1988 and noticed Brent's Rolex. Sorry the photo is not HQ. Is this a DD?

Nice catch; the Dead and Company are now touring; the guitarist has his own Rolex interests (John Mayer). He was on the Sirius show, "Tales From the Golden Road;" I almost called in just to talk watches.

Hodinkee has some cool video interviews with JM in their Talking Watches archives. If you haven’t watched them yet you owe it to yourself to check them out. A bit dated but still fun.

when folks start debating & exchanging soundboard/audience tapes in the 'open discussion forum' we'll find out.

What amazes me is John Mayer travelling with Dead and Company; I used to think he was a pop weenie now I actually realized how talented he is. "What a long strange..."

I managed a music club in Atlanta years ago. As I was paying John Mayer his $50 for opening up for David Ryan Harris (who I believe still plays with him as backup guitar?), John asked me if I had any ideas on how to get more gigs. I guess he figured it out . . .

^ Word.

Always been a Mayer fan. The man can sing, and play... Oh, and he's got a pretty decent watch collection as well ;)

July 2, 1989 - Foxboro Mass. I was there, but did not take this photo. That 7/2/89 show is being released for a 5/11/16 Movie Day.

John Mayer, touring with the Dead, is a great watch enthusiast. Please go to the site Hodinkee and watch him display part of his superb collection.

Phish is almost unknown here in Europe but I got into them because of Dead and old Dave Matthews Band (new DMB kinda sucks but the old live albums are great).

Junta and Picture of Nectar are very interesting albums. Love 'em.

I love Brent's compositions in Built to Last and In the Dark.

Easy to Love You is such a great song too... he was a genius pianist.

RIP.

He sported that watch often. Love Brent. Great player. Since there appears to be a decent amount of Grateful Dead fans on the forum....anyone catch what watch Billy Kreutzmann was wearing during those shows from Hawaii last week? It looked like a seiko diver or maybe a fifty fathoms, but I could not make it out. Looking forward to D & C tour this summer; I am sure John will wear some fantastic pieces.

I’m 32 and also a dead fan. Their music was and will always be eternal. Having John Mayer be touring with rest of the Dead was just cherry on top. He brought such refreshing change to their music.

Interestingly, I stayed with Dead lyricist John Perry Barlow for two weeks and he had a vintage GMT as well that he wore for many many years. Amazing personal, poet and a lover of life! RIP JPB and Brent!

It may be hearsay, they all had their gifts, but Brent was my favorite. And just like all of us, cool to see him celebrate getting tapped for a new position with a nice watch.

I know terrible picture. I am actually thinking maybe an IWC bronze spitfire or bronze oris diver, but way too blurry to see.
