Though I love Bullit, my vote goes to Smokey and the Bandit. Having grown up in the 70's, I like most of my friends all wanted a Black Trans Am in HS. GM's Pontiac division made out like "Bandits" with all the promotion that movie gave to the Trans Am and the sales numbers prove it.

American Graffiti. That car is now privately owned and occasionally goes on national tours. It is very widely recognized. There are SO MANY clones out there. It really is the quintessential street rod.

In the original Gone In Sixty Seconds they wrecked 93 cars. One was a real accident that put Halicki in the hospital. They left the scene in.
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry is also good. As mentioned earlier, The Blues Brothers showed a nice car chase through a mall. To Live and Die in L.A. is a cool movie in general, as is the previously ststed Vanishing Point. They both have good car chases in them. |
