Why are Swatch Group (17 watch brands) & Richemont Group (12 watch brands) brands being reported separately? Does the Rolex number include Tudor?
This list omits 4 Swatch brands, but even without the sales from the likes of Flik-Flak, Union Glashutte, Balmain & Leon Hatot I still get CHF7.680 billion for the Swatch brands. As Swatch reported 2015 revenues of CHF8.451 billion you can see how much of their money comes from their brands vs. their movements and parts business. For Richemont I think that all their watch brands are represented and their total comes to CHF5.653 billion. Richmont also has non-watch brands which make up about half of its reported CHF11.27 billion revenues. Both these companies, if their various marques were combined, would be bigger than Rolex. I'm not knocking Rolex; I think that #3 is a great spot for a company with only two brand names in the market. |

Golly, ever since I had that last drop of Trump Vodka I keep seeing that name everywhere... Even on what could only be a Breitling for Bentley...

Rolex is #1 for a long time and will continue to be ... Why you may ask ? Because nothing scratches the itch like a Rolex !!!! Had a breitling and flipped it for a Rolex !!! Had other luxury brands and flipped them for Rolex !!! I'm not the only , millions of others have more than likely had the same experience ... Technically speaking... |

Any good guess on average revenue per unit, to derive units?
Edit - Nevermind, approximately 5,000 per unit given the belief in roughly 1,000,000 units. |

I love it--Richard Mille is 29 and only produces 2200 watches a year. Awesome!

That gives average price of CHF 84 000 per watch!! Interesting to see that Rolex would be CHF 4900 per watch and Patek CHF 22 000 which shows that a huge amount of their sales comes from the quartz line. ALS at around CHF 20 000 and Journe at around CHF 27 000.

Rado above Breitling.... WHAT?!!?
Are international sales much larger and different from US sales? I am shocked with the order of the list. Tissot and Longines outpacing Tag and IWC....WOW. |

The latter are far less popular in the fairly large Asian market I would guess, plus its an entirely different ballpark in terms of pricing. Cheers Fred
