Great story but a 6 month sentance. We take a little stronger to Burglary and posssession of stolen property over here.
What exactly is "being released on license" mean over there? Probation??

6 Months gaol, Ha Ha!!

I was burgled some years ago in England. It is not only the theft and disruption that causes distress, it is the thought that your privacy and security have been invaded by scumbags of the lowest animal level, who have no thought whatsoever for the people they rob! Handlers of stolen goods should "enjoy" the same fate as burglars, in my opinion. I´m guessing but I expect "licence" is similar to probation, with maybe a closer check on the criminal, meaning straight back to gaol for re-offending? |

"It ended up in the hands of 25-year-old Stephen Jones who has a host of convictions for dishonesty."
This guy could run for elected office in America. |

I was wondering the same thing. Unlikely a crook like this would have the funds to pay restitution.

Justice.
Could of been a harder sentence - though at least the watch has made it back to its rightful owner. |

Nice to see it get back to original owner. 6 months seems a little light for this guys past and this type of theft.

Ending I'd like to hear. But hope it didn't have to happen in the first place. Especially one with such sentimental value.
