Sad how one man will kick a man while he's down in order to climb a single rung in the ladder of life. Absolutely despicable.

I wonder (and paramedics/docs might verify) if the watch was removed in process of resuscitation efforts and then disappeared.

The stolen watch was Downright Bad! but you know what's worse...?

Quote:
Although he was said to be worth $70 million, reports emerged shortly after his death suggesting his estate would be bled dry by the federal government.

His will called for 80 per cent of his estate to go his sisters and young daughter, subjecting them to death taxes, levied at a rate of 55 per cent.

Hopefully he had a good financial advisor and a good attorney. With proper planning, avoiding a great deal of federal estate tax is possible.

Sad you even have to worry about things like this...all your hard work divided out to everyone but your family that you worked so hard for

It's the Daily Mail, so the quality and accuracy of their reporting is hardly surprising (to us Brits). They misquoted me several times in their coverage of a court case a few years back. Idiots.

Have you been to Italy? I have many times. Northern is not too bad, yet Southern Italy is a different story. Of course all generalizations are wrong, yet some facts remain.

Oh com'on, first of all Rome is hardly 'the south' and second it's no where near as bad as you make it seem. I am Italian as you may have guessed by now, and am in Italy on a regular basis. There sure are places which are less safe than others, but which country doesn't have those. Anyway, I have felt way more unsafe in Miami or some areas of NYC than any place I've been to in Italy.

On another note, anyone noticed how small that Sub look on that massive wrist? He was truly a great actor. Sad thing he passed and even worse this watch thing happened.

Well said, my family are from the Abruzz.... in the mountains between Rome and Naples and like you I've felt more unsafe in South Beach Miami & L.A. than Rome & the East End of London where I grew up.

Paramedic accused of stealing James Gandolfini’s Rolex as he lay dying

Just an accusation at this point, but man, that's low.
Paramedic accused of stealing James Gandolfini’s Rolex as he lay dying
NY Post - Page Six

What a bada-bastard!

A paramedic has been accused of swiping James Gandolfini‘s $3,000 Rolex as the actor lay dying from a massive heart attack.

Claudio Bevilacqua, 43, allegedly stole the Submariner watch from “The Sopranos” star after he collapsed in the Boscolo Luxury Hotel Exedra in Rome during a family trip in June 2013, according to NBC News.

He was rushing Gandolfini to the hospital that night when the timepiece disappeared, though it is unclear if it vanished from his hotel room or while the actor was wearing it.

The New Jersey native had been found unconscious on the bathroom floor by his teenage son. He was pronounced dead 20 minutes after arriving at a hospital.

Bevilacqua was not present during his case’s first hearing on Monday, during which an Italian judge postponed the start of his trial until November.

Yeah, I noticed that the value was off a bit, also. Maybe double it to get closer to the real value.

Ironically, the last name of the thief was a character played in the series that shot Christopher. Matt Bevilacqua

I was with family just south of Rome at the time... It wasn't an LV pics taken during that trip showed him wearing a regular Sub date, black bezel - value sounded right at the time.
Was gutted he'd gone and more amazed that someone would stoop so low
