Rolex GMT 1675 query
Hi Rolex forum members,
Today I came across an 1675 which i wanted to buy but have some queries. The watch case is a 5 Mil series (1977) but it comes with an Mark I dial (196X) So the dial is already incorrect and also the lumes are totally white. using a 10x loupe I could not see even a very thin layer on top of the dots. Is this normal? The hands are obviously service hands which are white matching the dial but still glowing. The price is about 6000 USD so is it worth buying? (watch only ofcourse) Many thanks |

That dial is very suspect.

I have compared the dial with another mark I dial, all fonts, spacings etc are matching but just the lume dots are snow white. that makes me wonder?

Vintage GMT dials can range in color from white to dark yellow. I see nothing wrong with the dial in the photos that you have posted.

You should check this magnificent dial reference by Springer. https://rolexvintageforum.com/viewforum.php?f=21
Learn it. Know it. Live it when shopping... But to be clear, that is not an MK1, and is not a dial I am able to place. |
