Intentionally leaving stickers on
I know this is a dumb question. Does anyone leave the stickers on their new rolex on while wearing it ? Reason I ask is that you can barely see them and they could help to prevent scratches

Well, not wearing it at all would prevent scratches too. I've found the less I worry about wearing watches, the more I enjoy them!

This doesn't help the new players though, and in the initial stages of ownership where there's a higher probability of doing damage. I think it's a stage some have to go through to get to the watch enjoyment nirvana. |

Dirt and grime builds up under them once the edges start lifting, you end up with more scratches and it looks terrible, take them off!

http://www.rolexforums.com/showpost....5&postcount=29 but the ones that line the entire band (which do not exist so much on Rolexes more on other watches, such as Breitling), cause more of a grit/sand issue than the stickers on the tank, which are more secure. |

This is very true, If you think you are protecting your watch, you are not.

I think it looks awful when you see stickers on a watch. Take them off, commit to your watch and make it yours. Don't save it from scratches so the possible next guy can enjoy what you've missed out on. That's if you're a flipper of course but if you are not there is absolutely no reason to keep them on

The more my watches scratch, the more personal they become to me. Scratches are positively correlated to my appreciation of a watch. The fear of putting a scratch on a watch is really the fear of committing to a watch.

I actually saw somebody wearing a Smurf in Larnaca airport with tags on! They didn't buy it from said airport as they don't stock Rolex

That's just corny as anything. Take off those stickers, otherwise it looks like you're wearing a watch you can't afford and kind of distasteful at least IMO

I leave them on, when they start to lift I take them off. The clasp sticker is the only one that gets instantly pulled off.
My Wife's 2 year old DJ is fully stickered lol, but she has 3 others |

The case stickers at the top of the bracelet on PCL models are noticeable from day 1 and I pull them. Normally within 2 weeks the watch it sticker free. I absolutely understand what everyone is saying but this is what I do and I am okay with it. This is normal practice where I live and most people I know do the same. My wife has worn her 1 piece maybe 6 times in two years as she favours her DD so that is why hers is fully stickered and sits in the safe. Her 2 other pieces have zero stickers but they were not significant gifts and are worn around the house. |

there are too many stickers..start peeling them off now as you may find the last one even after few months of use..besides plastic protection is more suitable for other things in use ;)

Take them off, not worth having them on for someone to say to you 'Hey, you still have the stickers on?!?' and laugh as they walk away :)

Destickering makes the watch yours! Pull 'em off.

What is the problem of leaving the sticker on the watch. It's your watch, do whatever you like. Those thinking that having scratches on their watch got character, go ahead and scratch your watch on the floor.
