New Daytona vs BLNR

Assuming you could get either new right now from your AD, and you could only have one, which would you rather have?

Both in steel ofc, and either of the two dial configurations for the daytona.

New Daytona. No offense to my fellow GMT owners but the Daytona is in a bit of a different league.

Daytona C but glad I own both! Love the BLNR also and they make great pair in any collection.

Agreed. Got my Daytona C about a month ago and just bought a BLNR two days ago!

Daytona is in another league but GMT would add nicely to the collection.

Both are fantastic, no question. I would probably snap up the 500C because I am a sucker for anything new.

If Philipp Stahl is right again, there is a "blueberry" 116710 in the works, so I would hold off on getting the BLNR. Doesn't hurt to wait till next Basel as well, since certain dealers are still reluctant to discount.

Yeah---then the Batman will be old news and the herd will flock to the new girl in town.

Weren't there pics of the blueberry somewhere on this site?

I bought the BLNR on 6-9-16. Impulse buy when I stopped at my AD for another reason. Early last week got the call for White Daytona C. Both great but probably like the White Daytona C better.

Both nice. I just don't buy things that don't present a useful, for me, function. The GMT's dual time function and date function are extremely useful to me and its esthetics please my eye. But, I was once an engineer so that explains my approach.

Tho I have both BLNR and older Daytonas, I don't think it's even a consideration. Daytona hands down.

I hear this a lot about the Daytona, but no one is ever able to answer why the Daytona is in another league.

(I didn't vote because I don't think one is better than the other....)

I agree with you.....
Maybe because it 30+% more money?

PS: For me, money has absolutely NOTHING to do with which Stainless Steel Rolex Watches I prefer.
A cheaper model like the Explorer-I is the coolest....and no I don't own an Ex-I because I wish it was larger.

Thanks for the input everyone. Seems like the consensus is to get the new daytona. I'm in no hurry to get one, but hopefully I'll be able to get one soon. The prospect of a blueberry gmt sounds amazing too! Hopefully that's released next year

what does it mean that the Daytona C is in "another league"? Is the build quality or finishing better?

Got it. That makes sense and was what I suspected folks meant.

I've posed the same question recently, but suspect it will be quite some time before i could get my hands on the Daytona. Am leaning towards picking up the GMT right now instead of waiting years.

Easy...I can get a BLNR any day I want in the classifieds, but a Daytona...not so much.

So, my vote is the Daytona.

I'm probably the only one on TRF, but the Daytona just doesn't do anything for me. However, I do like the new DaytonaC much more than the older models.

I love BLNR but voted for daytona c (I prefer white dial).

If one watch, blnr. More functional with the date and gmt complication for most people. Daytonas are great watches but I think is not a one watch all occasion watch.

Wow, never seen the BLNR take quite the spanking!

Even the BLRO in SS got beat up in my poll.
