Rolex on ebay

Curious why the majority of Rolex sellers on Ebay don't list the serial number or only list a partial #?

BTW, thanks for the feedback on Rolex accuracy issues. MY GMT-Master II is running 5 seconds + against the government time website after a recent first overhaul after 10 years of ownership.

Mainly to prevent the less desirables from getting the number and using it in a fraudulent way. If you notice, some sellers have no problem listing the number.

I wanted to ask the same question. Is there a danger of any kind to the owner of the watch if undesirables get their serial number?

Say for instance you are buying at an AD and someone sneaks a peak at the serial number, what are the implications?

The replica makers might use the serial number on their replicas.
