116500 Daytona on brushed bracelet

Thread on another board discussed brushing the PCLs of a ceramic Daytona.

So out of curiosity on the look, I threw on the brushed bracelet I use on my BLNR. Was better than I expected but think I'll stick to PCLs for the Daytona, particularly with the polished case.

Does not look right with the polished lugs.

Curious, do those who dislike PCL's and want to brush the bracelet, brush everything else? Case, sides of links, crown?

Seems like a lot of models with brushed oyster are polished on the sides of case, but top of lugs are brushed

I would personally only brush the center links and top of lugs. Akin to say a sub or any other rolex with brushed bracelet in the current lineup.

I haven't worn a rolex with pcls in some time so I will have to see how I feel but my initial thought was that I would brush the lugs and PCLs. Time will tell if I ever get mine

Would be a challenge to get it right, the case of the Daytona doesn't have the same squared off transition of a sub from top to sides.

Never thought of that...I figured LA watchwerks could pull it off easily.

I'll prolly pussy out. It didn't really bother me on the 5711 so maybe I've turned a new leaf

I'm not usually a fan of the PCL and will take brushed if I can. The GMT LN and BLNR are two that I think Rolex missed the mark by adding the PCLs to the line, which is why I went brushed. Maybe having the WG BLRO with PCL is ok, and if I ever own it I won't be brushing the gold.

Agree, if the Daytona were to have brushed lugs/top of case like the GMT line, mine would have a brushed bracelet on it. But since it doesn't, and I am not going to modify the case itself, my Daytona's will stay with PCL.

116500 Daytona on brushed bracelet

A "tire treaded" Oysteflex option would be a GREAT mid year release for the Daytona 500.
And a good pull through sales option for the installed base of owners.

As for the brushed bracelet, yes it looks better for longer term wear without distracting swirls, etc. on PCL bracelets (if that is a bother to some). I don't particularly recommend brushing out the entire case unless you can do a really good job. The thought of doing just the lugs is possible with some good masking of the case's sides. Without masking you'll inevitably get uneven edging since that case isn't chamfered like other models.

Would look nice if you brushed the whole case; some people have done that on the older 16520 / 116520 and looks pretty good

Doesn't look bad, but the PCLs really suit the daytona.

I think it looks very off with the polished lugs for some reason, keep it original...it's the most desired watch lately for a reason..

This watch should never have had PCLs on it...........in Stainless Steel, this is the epitome of a Sports watch. I've owned a number of Daytonas throughout the years and have always brushed those PCLs

It looks good, but as others have said, with the amount of polishing on the case of the Daytona, the PCL looks better.

This looks fine however I would prefer PCL because it works well with the shiny nature of the ceramic bezel imo

If the case was brushed, that I would prefer a brushed bracelet as well, but as it looks today, keep the PLC
