First Rolex Purchase: My experience
After alternating between my 1968 Omega Seamaster DeVille (14kt gold w/ date) and Cartier Tank (Vermeil, circa 1980's) for the past few years, I decided that it was time for a new daily watch. After looking into various brands, nothing really caught my attention until I took a trip to my local Rolex AD. Within minutes, I found myself gazing at the SS Submariner (w/ date) and knew that this was "the one". Without hesitation, I purchased the watch, took the stickers off, and walked out of the AD with the watch on my wrist. One month of ownership has passed and I could not be any happier, especially having learned about the rigorous assembly process behind these magnificent timepieces. Now that I am a proud owner of a new Rolex Submariner, I have a feeling that there will be another model on the way soon. Perhaps a GMT Master II or Daytona....

You have got good taste in watches, like the non-Rolex ones as well as the Sub .
Just out of interest if it is going to be a GMTII are you looking for a LN or BLNR or dare I say a BLRO? |

Thank you! As beautiful as the BLRO is, I would have to go with the BLNR based on pricing. Though, if money wasn't a factor, BLRO hands down.

Congrats and welcome! It's a fine choice. A GMT or Daytona would make a great second too.

Hi,
Congratulations - a great choice ! I love that vermeil must de Cartier Tank as well :) Every now and then I get an urge to pick up a Tank Solo or an older Tank similar to your own, but I've managed to resist, so far anyway ! |
