LV smashed glass with a one in a million Rolex U.K. result....
I thought I would share this previously posted post (on another forum) here. As, I think it is quite rare for such a request to be fulfilled by Rolex.
This is what happens when your sapphire crystal Rolex bounces off a ceramic tiled floor, SICK! 0ff to Rolex the LV was sent for a full service with a request through my AD for a replacement sapphire without a cyclops? -Rolex wanted to change the bezel insert during the service which I declined due to its early original shade of green. The big surprise was when the request was fulfilled and IMO the watch looks so much better but maybe not so for the purist amongst the forum? The complete cost was 550GBP 2013. The down side of this is that the watch is so gorgeous and different to other LV's it is still sitting with the service stickers and has been un-worn since the service was completed (3 years ago) . Cheers, M |

Am I missing something or was this done back in 2013 by the looks of the service date?
If so don't think it's relevant now. |

It's relevant if he just wanted to share... or is looking for offers. You know how Rolex collectors go crazy for watches with a good story.

I like it and I am very surprised they fulfilled the request.
I am assuming it was done by an in house Rolex watch tech and not back to a RSC. |

Cool story and I love the look of the LV without the cyclops
Thanks for sharing. Who knew that an RSC would allow you to replace the crystal without a cyclops!! Quote:

But this crystal swap was done in 2013? I knew a member who had a WG Daytona dial fitted to his 116520 by Rolex back then try asking them now?!
What I'm getting at is this may of been the case back then but unlikely to happen now. |

Great watch but i personally miss the cyclops and the new crystals w AR coated cyclops are just superb.

Trouble now with the newer watches they have AR coating under the crystal where the cyclops is glued on.

Love it. The green is such a nice shade. But...are you telling us you haven't worn this beauty in 3 years? Wow...

That thing must have landed just right when it hit....basically really only damaged the sapphire and maybe a little of the bezel insert......count your lucky stars. It looks decent without the cyclops but a bit strange.....I just can't envision subs without cyclops (I don't even like cyclops).
