Is the white Milgauss discontinued?

I was just on Rolex's website and did not see the white dialed Milgauss listed as an option. This is probably a ignorant question, but does that mean it has been discontinued?

I believe so. It happened the same way with the black dial a few years ago.

Thanks for the information. I assume that means Rolex has just stopped producing them and they'll still be in the pipeline for a time. Based on past discontinued models, roughly how long would you expect these to be available from ADs? I'm fairly new to all this.

Hard to say but some discontinued models, especially less popular ones can linger in ADs for quite some time. Not sure how long the black dial Milgauss has been discontinued, but I bought one out of an AD's display case in March of this year if that helps.

The whites will linger I think. Very unpopular, but I love them.

Have to wait to confirm the discontinuation in the master catalogue. For now, the only info is that the rolex.com no longer features it on the site (far from definitive info) and a few posters who swear their mother's brother's butcher's AD says so (oh, and they also said a price increase was pending so get it quick! ;-) ).

My local AD here in Arkansas said the white dial is being discontinued this year. He offered it to me for $6600 (plus sales tax would put it at $7200 out the door). Had I not already committed to some ice for the missus, I would have left with the watch.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful replies! I knew it wasn't a popular offering; in fact that's one of the main reasons I liked it. I have been planning to buy this watch as my first Rolex in a couple years and would visit the Rolex site regularly to look at it and was hoping they would keep it around long enough for me to get it. I know it will probably be available on the secondary market, but I was looking forward to the experience of going to the AD, getting it sized, etc.

was planning to purchase this watch probably in a few years as my first Rolex and was hoping it would stay around for awhile.

Oh, it will be around a few years. It may be difficult to find at an AD at that point, but I don't think you'll have any difficulty locating one.

And as for the AD experience...please. I'll go TRF seller every time.

Just got mine today. When I noticed it gone from the website I did a trade at the Rolex dealer. Love it. You won't regret it!

Depnds on your local ADs, but somewhere like here in Hong Kong (where we have about 70 ADs) I would expect the very slow moving White to be available for at least a couple of years, if it has indeed been discontinued. I still see the Black one on display sometimes, and that's been OOP for a couple of years already as I recall.

pretty sure you will be able to locate one

as an example i recently saw someone buy a BNIB 40mm explorer 2 from an AD

i believe that was discontinued in 2011 when the 42mm model came out so that particular AD managed to hold it for 5 years

If it is discontinued, then the current milgauss will become known for the green glass. That's pretty cool.

Thanks everyone! I'm thinking a good option will also be watching the classifieds here. I was slow to warm up to the idea of buying online for fear of replicas. My knowledge base isn't great yet, so I've avoided EBay and the like for watches, but I'm sure buying from someone on here would be much less risky.

Golflife - great picture!

It's definitely one of those underdog models.
I wanted one as my first, but I found the DJII alot more versatile and eye catching.
