How many 116500 LN Ceramic Daytonas in circulation?

Just out of interest does anyone know how many units are knocking around in the UK at the moment, a friend and I were discussing this. I called up Rolex in St James square today (main service center) to ask the question, but even the guy I spoke to there was unsure.

I'm guessing anything delivered right now (Fall/Aumn) would be part of the second or third batches?

Or if you have any idea of approx how many Daytona's are in circulation around your local AD's it would be interesting to know.

Bit of a long shot I know! but would be interesting to try and put a figure on it, also does anyone know how many units are likely to be produced every year or anything along them lines?

Thanks,
:)

Know one knows that only Rolex themselves, but at the moment possible thousand world wide or more. And in say 5-10 years I would expect many many thousands just like the the Daytona launched back in 2000.Its only a cosmetically changed watch from the steel bezel one, and if it has the same run as the SS bezel one perhaps a million over the same time frame.

The number of watches Rolex ship per year is thought to be between 800k and 1m so let's split the difference.

My AD reckons it will do 2 this year. I don't know how many watches is sells, but I reckon they must sell between 150 and 250 per year, so let's split the difference again.

I am going to assume that all dealers will get the same percentage ratio allocation because I'm not a position to assume anything else. Could be a flawed assumption, but then again it could all be flawed.

That means that Rolex will sell 8k this year. They have been out for about three months, albeit not everywhere. So I'm going to say that there are currently 2,000 116500's in circulation right now. Half that for the black dial, and it's 1,000.

I'm then going to assume that the annual Daytona allocation will treble as of next year (based on my AD previously getting six per year) and as such, 24k per year being sold, so I'm going to say 104k in 5 years time and 225k in 10 years time.

But all the above could be nonsense.

Right now - 1,283. Three in delivery trucks logged into dealer inventory right......now.

Seriously - no way to tell. I do know one thing - demand > supply. And I don't see that correcting anytime soon
