Cadillac CT6 Any thoughts?

Good day gentlemen,

My lease on my Audi S5 Cabrio is up in the future and I will grind on my next purchase. Looking at different cars. Thinking about going back to GM for a all wheel drive sedan for the winter and a Corvette for the rest of the year. I must have one car with all wheel drive for the mountain passes.
For many years I kept two cars, generally an SUV and a Corvette. Currently my wife has an SUV, so really looking at all wheel drive sedans.
I moved away from the two car set up about 12 years ago and went to Euro cars. MB, BMW, then Audi. Ended up with the Audi as they make an all wheel drive convertible sports car that suits most of my needs. I really like the S5 but it is just a little to small for a one car set up and not really performance oriented enough to keep as the second "sports" car.

I drove a CT6 last weekend and must say I was impressed. All wheel drive and steering, 410 HP, and more technology that I really have use for. I think it would take some serious time to figure out how to use everything. Comfort factor is off the charts. Seating is amazing and the twin turbo engine provides a lot of power for a large car.

Couple things. I am 6'3" and have really long legs. Most seat bottoms are way to small for me to sit in comfortably which rules out many cars I like from contention. The CT6 and XTS both have seat bottom extenders like the Audi S line.

Any thoughts on the new Cadillac?

All I can say is that it is the first American car I would seriously consider in many, many years. That interior is gorgeous.

I drove one. It's a nice car and not a bad price (they are dealing). Super comfortable.

Have a 16 Escalade currently for weekends/trips (have had zero issues and tech is great) and my 17 literally just arrived today at dealer.

Caddy has stepped up it's game, but can only speak for SUV.

Just picked up my '17 last night, same place.

It's an SUV not an exotic car

Thanks Paul. May have to spend some time in an Escalade as well. Hard to argue with the comfort factor of a large SUV. Be a nice combo with a Vette Roadster. Congrats on the new one

Its a great looking car however, I would lease that model instead of owning it because Cadillac depreciates very fast. The first year is around 30% another option would be buy a used one next year.

Agreed! Unless they have some crazy incentives and 0% finance offer, I plan to go CPO on my next ride. I will look at leasing as well, but still feeling the sting of my Audi lease. It was not a good lease. I did research prior to setting it up but missed some vital information. Would never lease another Audi.

What did you miss out on? I'd love to be better-prepared for my next lease! I'm currently leasing a BMW, and I've heard that leasing Audi or MB are both painful!

Should have researched the residual value better and compared current trends/values for my model. The money factor was good, but residual is not. I could go buy the same car for less than the residual. Most of my researched implied that BMW has a good/great lease.

I've liked the new face of Cadillac ever since the first CTS years ago.

That being said, I would never buy one. Or any American car for that matter.

Haven't had the chance to test drive the CT6, but as fan and owner of 3 Cadilacs in the past 6 years (2 CTS and one Escalade EXT), I'm on board..
Love the look of the 2 door option CT6, and can't wait to have a drive...

Cost me $2k cash with '16 trade. No brainer, but also bought 5 in the past 20 months, so GSM gave it to me.

Oh, I'm a German and Italian sports car guy, but SUV, it's a no brainer for Escalade agreed.

This thing is a beast and electronics are better than any brand IMHO and I've owned most.

Another option is to consolidate. Sell the vette.

Get a 991 C4S cab. Drop top sports car all year round.

I looked hard at this and other Porsche models when I bought the S5. It is one the short list if I do not go to a two car set up. Do not have a Vette, considering going from one all purpose vehicle to two as I have had in the past.

the current audi S6 is very impressive. i love mine and i've owned many AMG and M products.

as for the caddy, i've never thought that fit and finish matches their german competitors.
