Should I double check my CostCo Rolex?

Just kidding, I've always gone TRF or Rolex AD when buying.

Not saying Costco is squeaky clean here. But considering they're well-known for a very generous/lenient return policy on most every item they sell, I'd be surprised if any Costco member got pushback for returning Tiffany items they bought at Costco......

Just in case of . . . I am 500 % sure they'll refund you the money

Last time I was watching a gentleman at the returns

He had a huge jar of Wimpy peanut butter in his hands with about 1/2 inch left in it

I was really wandering what he had as an explanation . . .

Something wrong with it Sir ?

We'll yeah . . . . I don't actually like it . . .

Ok no problem . . . I'll refund it back to your card

In Europe they would kick your butt . . . .

I've done business with numerous firms who have supplied products of one sort or another to Costco. If you want to do business with them the vendor agrees to accept all returns. Costco doesn't get stuck with anything they take back. They simply ship it back to the vendor and take a credit. I know of firms that have stopped doing business with them for that reason. That is why they went to 90 days on electronics. The vendors in computers, TV, and such are big enough themselves to have some clout of their own and balked. Before this change I recall buying the hot new Sharp LCD panel when it just came out, on sale, and the return line at Costco was out the door with customers bringing back the previous version to get the new one. Apparently people figured if they buy an electronic from Costco it is the last one they would ever have to buy.

But most of the other vendors just go along with the Costco program.

IIRC this is the Walmart model. Walmart is a veritable slave trader when it comes to their suppliers.

Yeppers. With the mass merchandisers the receiving department is a profit center, lol! Delivery appointments with 2 hour windows, detailed palletizing and packaging requirements etc., and every deviation results in a chargeback to the vendor.

I didn't see anything related to this case but have to think this as a result of bad merchandising rather than blatant counterfeiting.

I have been to Costco and seen "Tiffany style" solitaire diamond rings. It wouldn't surprise me if some low level merchandiser took the liberty of removing "style". It would be shocking to learn that Costco was selling diamond rings to intentionally deceit it's customers with a Tiffany's stamp on the ring and Tiffany box.

I agree. I'm sure the term "Tiffany" was being used to describe a style or cut. But obviously some deception was perceived as reflected by the judgement in the case.
