need some 1665 crystal help

Was hoping someone can help me out here:

im trying to get a superdome on my 1665 which currently has the lower "service" dome on it.

i bought a $30 dollar one on ebay but it didn't fit, the crystal was too big. i've since returned the ebay dome but now im pretty confused because the ebay auctions say 30.25mm but my experience suggests that it should be something like 30.19mm

can someone clarify what the correct diameter of the 1665 crystal is?

thanks.

Don't have the exact measurement. Why risk a $10K watch with an aftermarket? The original superdome can still be found. I've seen them offered on VRF.

Welcome to the forum.
For $30 you're only going to get crap, unless you get very lucky... A T39 superdome will cost you at least 10x the price... Buy a genuine T39, you won't have to worry about measurements.

Why is it that an after market company does not make a t39? With today's modern machinery an exact replica could be made for less than $5. It is a piece of acrylic its not some great technological advancement in engineering.

thanks for the responses. i had decided to a $30 aftermarket one only because my research suggests that 90% of the authentic superdomes out there are actually fakes.

Please read this thread when considering an aftermarket crystal. If you scroll down to my post, you'll see some scary photos!
