Deep Blue discontinued?

I saw a couple comments in here that the Deep Blue is no longer made. Does anyone know if that is actually true? IF so then did they only make 3900 of them?
thanks

Yes sorry. The AD said the one the FedEx guy is delivering to me tomorrow is 3900/3900. Best look for another watch.

Rolex has made no formal statement about the D blue being discontinued. All rumors.

Love the sarcasm that people here display towards new members . VERY helpful.

As far as I have read, the watch has not been discontinued yet. I think it's all conjecture.

Why would you love it when people are sarcastic? I actually feel like it's not very helpful.

No, I didn't. I was also joking around. He used sarcasm to point out that sarcasm isn't helpful.

When you frequent TRF on a daily basis every single day, you get why regulars and residence here responded the way they did to threads like is it safe, is this going to be discontinued, ect... I am getting there too...

It matters not if they do discontinued it or not...but if they do, i hope its gonna be the classic black rather than the DBlue.

They most likely want the inevitable price rise to occur so we put it all behind us and move on to the next price rise. The suspense is killing everybody

A price rise also helps to underpin the used values.

Welcome to TRF!

If you used the search function you would see that this topic comes up every so often, thus some of us banter a bit our responses :-)

To your question, no it is not discontinued, but it is an often used sales tactic at ADs to say so.

Not sure why an AD would say that the D-Blue is discontinued as a sales tactic, not with a reference like that which is in such high demand

That's actually a great sales tactic. It's forcing you to buy it for fear of not being able to in the future. Especially someone that only buys watches at ADs.

I guess my point was lost. My point is that attempting that sort of 'sales tactic' is that it's a waste of ten seconds of the salesman's and the potential buyer's time that they're never going to get back. That 'tactic' is totally unnecessary because in most of parts of the world, the D-Blue is very difficult to find and the ADs have waiting lists. Therefore, they would have absolutely no trouble selling it and such a 'tactic' is pointless.

They've surely sold far more than 3,900. It has not been discontinued -- I think that if this were to occur, it would be announced at Baselworld (watch convention) which takes place every spring
