1680 Red Submariner legit?
Hi
Newbie here with a question about a red 1680 I'm looking at. Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place. The dial seems a genuine mk II (though please feel free to correct me!), but I have concerns about the case, namely the engravings between the lugs. They seem very "fresh" compared with other examples I have seen. Any comments from the knowledgeable members on here would be very much appreciated! |

Is this a double post? I am positive we had an identical one.
Case and case back surely looks aftermarket/custom. Dial also suspect. I can not see enough of movement to confirm

Many thanks for the advice and apologies if it was a double post. I did have a search before posting but couldn't find anything.
I had thought that the dial and caseback seemed alright which is quite scary! Will give this one a miss then. Cheers :) Last edited by stewester; 17 October 2016 at 02:16 AM.. Reason: Grammar |

If it's fake, it's a very good one. The age of this watch would indicate it's real as the fakes that were made when this one was new were HORRIBLE! The mechanism looks accurate and I think the dial looks good. Not sure about the back, but the markings look legit.

Red 1680 are the hardest watches to buy. So many people trying to pull a fast one when it comes to these.

I think Gladiator is correct. That dial look way to good and new. That case looks like an aftermarket. The movement looks real but everything else can be aftermarket. And as far as the engraving. They wear out and watchmakers will re-engrave the numbers.

I'm not too sure about the dial, the print looks okay to be honest but I can't tell for sure. Something looks odd whilst something tells me it's good. Movement is real and case can be anything from real to aftermarket.
