Breitling Colt or Oris Diver?
Gents, quick question, I'm curious about your thoughts between the two. I like the look of both pieces, but I'm torn between the prices.
Since the Colt has an ETA movement and Oris has a Selita (spelling?) movement which are on par with each other, IMO. Their prices are quite different with Oris under 1.5k and the Colt just north of 3k, is the Colt really worth the money? Leaning towards the Oris to add some blue to my collection. I've owned both brands, just curious of your opinions. Thanks! |

The ETA in the Breitling will be a higher grade and may have some bespoke customisations – enough to warrant or justify the difference? Only you can really decide that one.
Buy what you like the look of most, not the brand name on the dial. |

Selling my Colt Chrono (quartz) is possibly my biggest regret. I'd choose Breitling over Oris any day of the week.

My colt has been a great piece over the last couple years and stays within cosc. I would find a deal on a colt, they are out there.

Rob, I was a big fan of the original Divers 65, but now I'd go with one of the larger bue dial ones. Not sure which strap though.

Thank you everyone for your comments. Adam, I was drawn to these Oris models as well. The 65's are a great line! I was also considering an Aquis, as it is as close as I can get to my former TT1. Though the classic designs of the 65 line is pretty hard to look away from. I love the Oris rubber, so I would probably go that route if I go Oris. My first "nice" watch was an Oris that my little brother now wears, and I miss having one in the collection.

Hi Adam, get the rubber strap....
I bought the blue dial lately and love the dome glass and blue dial. The rubber strap is one of the best rubber strap I have seen. I am big rubber strap fan and would highly recommend the rubber model

Breitlings are COSC certified and uses the highest grade of ETA movements as base. While Oris are not at all.

Definitely a Breitling. Try and find a used older Colt II Automatic - I have had the blue dial one for 9 years and still love it!

I love the vintage vibe of the 42mm Divers 65. Even better the bronze Carl Brashear.

You enablers are killing me!
Especially you Adam! That Oris is yet another on my list... I think Crack would be a cheaper habit. |

I prefer the look of the Oris divers. As a bonus, they are less expensive than Breitlings.

The Breitling colt is a great piece for the money. Breitling does a lot of work to the ETA (COSC), the calibre looks great and keeps time as good as any of my Rolex. I have the pro II bracelet, croc strap on depolyant and a rubber strap. Check out the dial work and shaped crown guards. For ~3,200 new/$1,500 used, I can't think of a better deal.
