Daytona Scam on CL

http://denver.craigslist.org/jwl/825163919.html
This guy wants Western Union wire to London. Post is in Denver CL. He provides a bogus tracking number to a fictional carrier. Looks like the watch has shipped before you wire the money. Uses perfect English in the listing but replies to emails in broken English. No, I did not send any money.

Interesting Scam continued

I thought I would post this email exchange. This guy won't give up. Chronological from Bottom to top. The aircargo link goes to a secure server now.

What driver? You asked the driver? :))

Sir, the package is at the office in Aurora and are waiting for my confirmation to give you the watch. First I want to confirm that you have made the payment and tell me the mtcn so I can verify on the web. Then I will call them and let them give you the watch. Btw I will need your phone #

My watch was not delivered today! The AirCargo driver said that he did not have anything on the wagon. What's going on here?

You have the prove that the watch has been sent, so why not Western Union? I've sold it at this low price is because I need money fast! I am in london with business and I'm in big debt! This is the reason. The watch is already sent and you really make me problems if you don't pay. I will have to wait untill the watch comes back to me before I can sell it to another. If you really don't want to do it this way, please tell me NOW, so I can try and do something about it and get back the watch from the shipping company.

Hey Thomas;

I'm confused. I thought you were in Seattle? Then you said you would ship the watch for my inspection and I would pay after receipt. Here is that email in case you forgot:

Hello,

Are you still interested of my watch? I've attached all the pictures I have so you can be sure it is authentic. Because of my busy schedule we can't meet in person. I must ship this watch and after that you will pay me. If you agree please give me your name and address and I will start the delivery ASAP.

Kind regards,

Thomas

So, seems like you are changing the terms. I would certainly wire by Western Union after I verify it's a real Rolex. What's the deal?
Markus

Hello,
I have started the shipping. You can track you package at Aircargo Express official website: http://aircargo.servebbs.com/aircarg...ent/index.html . This is the tracking number: S5527160750
Because I need a fast transaction with this watch I can suggest you sending the money direct to me using Western Union this way we can have a fast transaction. If this is OK for you please contact me because I have someone else interested and I really need to know if you want to make this purchase.
If you agree, please send to :
Name: Thomas Brenner
Address: 47 Hawksley Road
City: London
State/Province: London
Zip Code: N16 0TL
Country: UK
Once the payment was made, email me the details :
- 10 digit MTCN (Western Union Money Transfer Control Number):
- Exact sender's name on file with Western Union:
- Your street address on file with Western Union:
- City/State and Country on file with Western Union
- Amount sent:
Regards

I saw a local post for a 18K GMTIIc asking $9,800. I wonder what a jeweler would offer for it, and at what point the price becomes legit.

I bought 2 Rolex watches from CL sellers. In both cases they were local, had stories that checked out and met them personally. One guy had me in his home for an hour chatting about other collectibles. I got good deals, but they were not 'too good'.

Here is the respone when I threw the guy a bone about buying it. I already known it was stolen pics off of ebay..
From:Thomasbrenner79
My brother-in-law is in St Joseph's Hospital & Med Center ( Phoenix, AZ ) where he had some medical investigations 2 weeks ago. Last week we found out he has cancer. I'm in the process of moving my brother-in-law to Eastern Regional Medical Center in London,UK where they gave us some hope. I want to sell the watch and shipp ASAP it because I want to be able to concentrate on my brother-in-law's problem.Usually I would allow you to come here and inspect it but now because of my busy schedule and because of the problems that I have with my brother-in-law it's impossible. I have to stay here in London untill I move him and they will finish the the medical investigations and tell us if we can start the treatment. For the moment the only option I have is to go ahead through Yahoo! Finance.
Here are the transaction steps:
Buyer and Seller Agree to Terms, Both parties agree to terms of the transaction, which includes a description of the merchandise, sale price, number of days for the Buyer's inspection ( 3 days ).
Seller Ships Merchandise: the Seller is authorized to ship merchandise and submit tracking information.
Buyer Pays:The Buyer submits a payment proof. Yahoo! Finance verifies the payment.
Yahoo! Finance verifies that the Buyer receives the shipment after the Seller receives the payment.
Buyer Accepts the Merchandise The Buyer has a set number of days for an inspection and the option to accept or reject the merchandise. (in this case 3 days)
Yahoo! Finance Pays the Seller.

If this is ok with you please reply with your complete name, address and shipping address in your next email and let me know if you are interested in knowing more details about this purchase so that I can open a transaction case at Yahoo! Finance and move forward with this deal. You will also need to make a free Yahoo! e-mail account(if you don't have one) in order to receive the invoice.
Thank you,
Thomas
